Wow, Rosen Centre and Plaza are both gone already. I booked a room at the Hilton, which has a catwalk to the part of the convention center they used last time.

Why is Celebration during the weekend of Easter? If Disney is wanting attendees to also spend some time and money at the parks they are already full that weekend. I don't think it will be as easy to just pop into the park in the evening after Celebration as compared to Anaheim.

I did it one evening with Nerfherders and Mrs. Nerf. We had a great time that evening...although I remember Mrs. Nerf being in a wheelchair for some reason. What was her ailment? Either way, we had a great time doing Star Tours multiple times...

She took a misstep at the hotel that morning and messed up her calf or knee.. not sure which. So she dropped me off at the con and went about trying to get it treated, from a clinic to a specialist, and then another. And while she could walk, she could not walk well, so we pushed her around in the wheelchair that night. It was not crowded that night so we could just got on rides over and over again.

If anyone is interested in going out early, some of us are looking to rent a condo near Disney from Sunday April 9th to Wednesday the 12th. With enough people, the cost will work out to a little over $100 total per person. If you're interested, let me know.

It's that weekend because it's also spring break. Kids are out of school for the week. Disney is super huge that can accommadate hundreds of thousands of guests, so no one should have a problem entering (they've never closed the gates due to too many people, Disney likes your money). And there is always Harry Potter World at Universal (it's cheaper than Disney).

I have a one-king bed room with sleeper sofa and my camping cot at the Extended Stay behind the OCCC loading dock area. It's a bit of a walk over the bridge to the parking lot, then around the big building to the front, but it's not bad (if I can do it anyone can). The room also has a full kitchen, continental breakfast (wrapped muffins and bananas), free parking for guests, a grocery and liquor store a block away, I-Drive trolley stop a block away, free shuttles to the parks right outside the front door, discounted passes to those parks and the trolley at the lobby, a cute little outdoor swimming pool, and the only place in the entire area that will let me park the Beast for free (way out in the back by the fence). I dare anyone to try to beat $92 per night. And yes, you can walk to the other hotels for the bash, pool parties, and any other party you want to attend. It's not a big hotel, it's not party central, it's not attached or across the street from the OCCC front door, but it's cheap, clean, and within walking distance. And did I mention they'll let me park my motorhome there.... for free?

EDIT: I'll be going to the parks Mon-Wed after the con since I'll be driving the Beast with droids the week before the con. I'll be arriving by Wed morning so I can help with droid room setup. Jeff is taking bins, so let him know if you need bin transport. I'm just carrying my costumes in the closet and droid parts in the tub this time around.

Spring break is different from district to district, let alone state to state, so that makes no sense.

I hope it's not spring break for anyone, the park will be so crowded. I don't like crowds.

Jeff is driving again and taking costume totes or empty totes for your Celebration goodies to get home safely. Price to be determined.

I think most spring breaks will be wrapped up by that point, unfortunately Easter weekend is still a big weekend at parks. Easter Sunday the parks will be at capacity and will be nowhere near as convenient as Anaheim last year. They will probably offer a "convention rate" for the days leading up to and following Celebration. I think our best bet at this point would be a one night event like CV's "Last Tour of Endor" on Thursday or Friday night.

I just noticed that, daang! Also, no more Jedi knight badge? I wonder if those people were surveyed after Celebration and they all just they would rather have the Master badge if given the option.

Considering how fast Jedi Master packages sold out last time, I think they were simply willing to get rid of Jedi Knight altogether and just add more Jedi Master packages. It worked, as they still sold out in only a few minutes.

I wanna hang out with the 'regular' folks anyway. I don't think there was enough incentives for the $700 price tag. 1/2 hour early to get exclusives? Not early enough when a 'celeb' can cut in line and buy over the minimum and take your limited edition item out of your hand before you even get to the front of the line.
I don't go to enough panels or things to use the pass to it's fullest potential anyway.

It's a big Birthday Con for me and I plan on living it up!!!!!
