OK, I was just wondering who all has Star Wars related costumes in here. If you have them are you members of the SW costuming communities...Rebel Legion for good guys (jedi, rebels, X-wing pilots, etc) or the 501st for bad guys (stormtroopers, biker scouts, snowtroopers, Vaders, bounty hunters, jawa's and tuskens, and even clones are in that mix now)

Also, what costumes do you have?

For me, I have a ESB Fett that always seems to be getting upgraded slowly and am part of the 501st.

I have a Jedi but have not yet joined the Rebel Legion (sorry Amy...I'll get around to it)

you can make decent Jedi costumes for only 50-60$ Just start cruising the clearence shelves at the fabric stores. That's what I did. I made mine for halloween when I was in college for under 20$ probably.

Now if you want to do something with armor that's a little more. My Fett is up to about 1000 by this time probably with more upgrades planned for the future.

I've been studying the way the Jedi
    costumes have been put together,
and have come to the conclusion thus
    far....

It is easier to go to 'Chinatown'
in off Bellaire and put the gear
    together in one shop....

Jedi costumes aren't quiet that bad. There are plenty of places out there that will guide you through sewing one almost step by step.

I have been searching for Jedi costume tips and patterns and I hope to have something ready for EPIII. I have already constructed 2 lightsabers and bought a parks saber, I just need a costume to go with it. Anyone plan on wearing any costumes to EPIII? EPIII is going to be awesome.

go check int he costumes and props forum. There are links to several places that have Jedi costume patterns. Some of the best are Ambers Meditation Chamber and the padawan academy (not quite right but something like that) There are some pretty specific walkthroughs there to making a great Jedi outfit.

Thanks Slowmo. I will head over there and check it out. I looked over there before, but I never really looked for links. Hopefully, I will discover some good pointers.

There is also a group that "tags" along with the 501st that addresses the "good guys" of the Star Wars Universe. They are known as the Rebel Legion. You may find them here: http://www.rebellegion.com
Some of the Jedi in that group have most outstanding costumes and not your generic bathrobe and broomstick Jedi costumes.

Hey thanks Slowmo, I am checking that site out after this relpy. I am trying to get myself going on the costume. I have built a couple of lightsabers but the costume thing has taken some time for me to get started on. I even want to get into the stormtrooper armour, but I figured I would start with Jedi stuff first. Cheaper too. [face_mischief]

For a jedi costume, I strongly suggest checking out the dollar fabric bins at Walmart. I just (finally) got some stuff for mine there (it's a bit too thin, but at a dollar a yard, I just bought enough to double it up). It's been around for a couple of weeks so either they keep getting more or people aren't buying it. It also seems common to most Walmarts as I wound up going to six diggerent Wally Worlds that first week I saw it and saw it at all of them. They have a sort of chocolate brown and a lighter beigy brown.
