ST SW episode 8 to be filmed in Dubrovnik/Croatia

Hi guys,
as u probably already knows new SW episode will be filmed partly on streets of my home town Dubrovnik. For more info u can visit www.starwarsdubrovnik.com . The filming will start in 4-5 weeks. Maybe u can take or holiday earlier this year and visit Dubrovnik . It has been confirmed that some scenes will be filmed inside city walls on main street Stradun.

 

Great news. With some McQuarrie-esque touchups, Dubrovnik can be a great Star Wars city!

Beside Dubrovnik old town there is rumor they will use island Lokrum(very close...just few hundred meters) which means will be lots of nature so it could be Naboo...i have to agree with that one.

 

Betcha that will be the planet Del Toro's character is from. I'd bet that Poe, Finn, Chewie, and BB will go there on a special mission/negotiation and all hell breaks loose.

 

I think that it will mostly likely be yet another new planet. Perhaps where the KOR are currently based? They do seem to have a pseudo-Medieval aesthetic to them.

It almost looks like a military barracks of some sort... Maybe where The First Order are now based??

 

Who knows. Though I hope they use more of Dubrovnik than just that building! It's a gorgeous city.

Personally, I think Johnson is revisiting the "Exotic City" from TFA concept art.

 

You know what would be cool...? A Star Wars prison of some sort!

hehe the original statue is SV(Sveti Vlaho or Saint Blasius) the protector of Dubrovnik.....not everyone will like it

 

Well, yeah. In ROTJ, we see a prison under Jabba's palace, in ESB we see a Cloud City prison cell, and in ANH, we see the Death Star detention center.

 

For those who dont know Dubrovnik is Kings Landing from Game of Thrones.

 

Good news we might get set Fotos in a few weeks.

Perfect city for Star Wars romance.

 

My wife and I visited Dubrovnik a couple years ago. Hands down one of the best vacations we've ever taken. Can't wait to see how it appears in Star Wars.
