SW Illness Help

Can anyone tell me where I can find the names of some illnesses? I need one that would knock a human on their @ss for a few days. I've heard of Rhodian (? please correct spelling) flu, but that's about it. Spanks, CS

 

Why not just make one up? A lot of illnesses have local colloquial names that would vary from world to world anyway, and then you would have complete control over the symptoms.

 

True. I just didn't want to make something up and then everyone go "Whoa, what the hell were you thinking, it should be the craptacula virus."

I think I was just trying to make it sound authentic, but, you're right, I could probably pull it off.

I don't know, people don't seem to just get sick in star wars, their always poisoned or something. Like the Death Seed, or the time when Mon Mothma got posioned, or when the Vong posioned Mara. But making it up would work just fine!

 

One thing to keep in mind -- in regards to them not getting sick often -- is that the technology seems to be in pretty good shape for fixing normal problems, so for something to be epidemic, it would almost have to be something new, or something that has a really weird pattern of infection (eg, in "The Stand," they couldn't beat the flu because it was designed to shift the antigen every time the body developed a defense).

 

What era is it that you're writing in?

 

I'm writing a story on Tatooine, just after PT.
