That machine-translated "inheritance" and "family" isn't what people are trying to turn it into. Google doesn't translate Japanese well.

Also she didn't say the rough cut is finished (a problem with Google translating that).

She said AFTER editing is finished a lot of the CG work will begin and about 1 or 2 months later Williams will begin scoring the movie.

As for the "family" and "Inheritance" stuff people are reading into, her actual quote is more about her saying "We still have a lot of stories of the "Star Wars Saga" to tell"

Google Translate often will mistake Saga for Family or Inheritance when translating Japanese.

 

Got ya. So the main thing we can take away from this is the movie hasn't finished editing, hasn't been scored yet and the CG work hasn't really started.

 

but isn't the Star Wars Saga the Skywalker Saga which still means it's about family/inheritance.

I think it's a one-time thing due to how popular Star Wars (and Disney) is in Japan. They did a Celebration there and they do D23 Japan as well.

Some of Kennedy's comments were very focused on how great Disney is because Japan LOVES Disney and especially Winnie the Pooh.
