Garrison Excelsior would like to invite Crossroads of the Old Republic to join them for a Star Wars theme night with the Binghamton Senators on Friday evening April 6th.

We will be sharing a table out in the concourse where we can each put up our banners, hand out fliers, pose for pictures, etc. We will also be collecting donations for a charity of your guys choosing. I asked the Binghamton Senators if they had a preferred charity and they left the choosing up to us.

Game time is 7:05pm, but the doors open at 6pm so we should get there at 5:30pm at the latest to set-up and get in costume.

I need to submit the names of all the volunteers so that the Binghamton Senators can make up our free concourse passes. So please post here to help me make up the list. I'd like to send the final list to them on March 30th.

In addition to entertaining folks before the game, we've also been invited to participate in other activites during the game like sitting in the stands with fans, the dance contest and I'm guessing other fun things that mascots would normally do.
However, for anyone wishing to decostume and just watch the game (and any spouses) we've been offered discounted tickets of $10 a person. To get those tickets you need to PM me and I will send you the details on how to purchase them (in advance only) off the public boards. Anyone who is a member of 501st, Rebel Legion, FanForce or spouse/children of one is eligible for the discounted tickets.

We will have access to a locker room to change and store our gear.

So far there are 6 people from Garrison Excelsior & Echo Base coming out for this.

Any questions - feel free to ask.

I'm working on the press release now and will be posting it here for feedback from you guys sometime today.

Ian, consider our pamphlets done!! I just sent them off to the printers at school for 200 copies. I figure that should give us plenty, right? Now all we need is buisness cards. Also, Doc Bev, will we have "power" at the table? If we do, I'll bring my laptop, and we can play some of my podcast episodes, in particular the one where Ian is interviewed about the Jedi Religion. This looks to be a fun night. Thanks.

I will double check on the power availability when next I speak with them.
If not, KnightShade may have a portable power supply that would be able to run the laptop for a couple hours.

Do you guys know which charity you'd like to go with yet?

Sorry to keep bugging you, I know Ian has a lot on his mind right now, but I was really hoping to send this out last Tuesday. Unfortunately once we pass the two week mark, the probability of getting media coverage goes down as their schedules get booked.

Working? Does this mean as mascotts or as un-costumed? My wife was coming to take pictures of the event Does that fall under the catagory of worker/Helper? Ryan said she could come with me.. Please let me know as we need to get a babysitter if we both go out. Working does not constitute watching/sitting to see the game. Correct? And dicounted tickets exactly how much will that be?

    Thanks

In the case of the arena/game tickets, "working" is defined as volunteering in costume for activities inside the arena. Your wife would get a free concourse pass (if you PM me her name so that I can add her to the list I send in tomorrow) as a helper, but if she wants to enter the arena she would need to purchase a ticket which are $10 (instead of $16) for us. I believe Ryan was answering the question of whether or not your wife would be eligible for the discounted tickets, to which the answer is yes.
The only free arena passes we're being offered are to those who will be volunteering in costume. Just sitting and watching the game (in costume or not) does not qualify us for a free game ticket.
I hope that clarifies things. If not, please let me know.

Okay, so I'm trying to understand this better, so ignore my ignorance. Will I not be allowed in the arena with my costume on? Only the concourse correct? Unless I have a ticket. If I'm understanding that correctly. If not, then I may need to sign up for a free ticket as well.

For both the concourse and the arena separate tickets are needed. You're already signed up for the concourse one. If you are going to "troop" inside the arena in costume you can get a free arena ticket, but if you are going in to watch the game (in or out of costume) you need to purchase a game ticket.

    Nope, you didn't miss a cut-off.
I don't think we'll be getting the arena passes until tomorrow night, but the B-Sens wanted to get the concourse passes ready in advance.

I have confirmed we have power at our table, so you can bring stuff to play. And we have a DVD too (you probably saw parts of it at the Syracuse Heroes Expo) if there's time to play both.

EDIT: I have a couple updates to the event checklist (see red text)...

    Where is the Entertainers entrance/exit?
after entering you will see a door marked Media, that is where we sign in for our concourse passes

    Time of Event

Time entertainers need to be there: 5pm
Time entertainers need to be ready for: 5:30pm
Time event ends: game ends at 9:30pm
Time entertainers can remove costume TBD

    Weapon restrictions
    no prohibition on weapons

    Trooper Provisions
Men's and Women's secure dressing area
    co-ed locker room
    A "safe zone" to unmask
    co-ed locker room
    Will food/water be provided?
water will be provided, bring money for food at arena
    Any other entertainer "perks"
free concourse passes, free arena passes for costumed volunteers, discounted tickets for those wishing to attend the game
Is there a preffered parking location/garage?
    no special parking location
    Is parking free/reimbursed?
parking is aprox $5, not reimbursed
