As I sketch the SW universe, I find myself searching for textures and visual motifs from the films (namely the classical trilogy) to work into my drawings. Textures like the walls of Mos Eisley or the metal floors of the Death Star, to visual motifs like the cut-out perforations in the stairs, walls, and floors of various sets, and window designs.

    Questions:

~What artistic/architectural elements from the films do you find yourself utilizing in your fan-art? Do those elements make their way into your own personal style for non-SW artwork?

~Do you draw on visual elements from things other than architecture? Like creature design or objects?

~Do you have any links to decent references of the set/design of the buildings and worlds in the films? There are a lot of SW images out there, but it can be tricky to find hi-res pictures of the design elements.

I'm curious to hear people's opinions and uses! :D
