SWC SWC Jedi Draft/Starfighter Draft plans! This Is Happening!

Most interested in seeing who'd be the best crossover character-- i.e. someone who is actually an asset in a normal draft AND this one

So my main reason for pitching the "Bizarro" draft is that we can use it to bide our time until we digest the mass of new content coming out around the same time as VIII. This also throws a fantastic wrench in the traditional draft strategies, and makes us dig through some more obscure content that we wouldn't normally.

In addition, I think I'd like to actually run this draft as well.

Evil.

 

I've never done a draft before, (though I've read through some), but that sounds fun!

 

I'm always down I know we wanted to run a muggles draft, not sure when people wanted to do that

A draft? Silly question, but how does it work?

 

Starfighter draft? Hmmm. Could be keen. I was really keen for the muggles one.

 

Like fantasy football, you and other players each draft a team of like 8 characters. Then-- again like fantasy football-- you pit your team against other teams for a few rounds until the playoffs, where a champion is crowned.

The way the matches work (b/c that part can't really be like fantasy football lol) is you assign each of your players a number, and so does your opponent. Like this:

You:

1. C-3PO
2. A porg
3. Admiral Holdo's hair
4. Finn

Your opponent:

1. R2-D2
2. Jar Jar Binks
3. Wicket the Ewok
4. Darth Maul

When #1 is called, R2 faces against C-3PO in the most hilarious match ever. When #2 is called, a porg fights Jar Jar Binks and probably wins. The winners are actually determined by 3 judges who vote on each match. In case of a tie at the end of the round, your entire team will face your opponent's entire team in a big free-for-all match to decide the winner.

Who you draft pick depends on the type of draft-- you want strong Force-users for the Jedi Draft, and you want great pilots for the Starfighter Draft. And you also probably want peeps who work well together in case your match comes down to the team battle.

Also you can look here for an example of one going on, with an even better explanation in the first post, but since this was a way for me to create the R2 vs. Threepio battle I wanted to do it anyway.

 

@KenKenobi Sounds like fun! I suppose Muggles would just be the ordinary, non-Force inclined characters?

I would pass on Starfighter, but would happily participate in a Muggle

 

I'd still like the muggle draft.

 

Can we please add PORG to the draftable list so we can get the JAR JAR VERSUS PORG battle and I PROMISE I will theater it

 

We have DE's list so we can definitely start a draft up of non Force users.

 

If we end up needing a GM, I may join. I'm not as familiar with non-force users+I'm hoping to be teaching fairly soon.
