I am ashamed to admit it was due to an overextended trust in my assistant. They have since been fired and-- well, I fired them.

I have now put matters into my own hands.

I believe it mainly entailed misreporting various items and using this position for personal gain.

 

What were the items?

 

Information concerning assets, income, and such.

 

OK, Hmmm..... Nothing concerning free weapons, how alarming...

 

I still feel we are overreacting to what seems to me an honest mistake, one to which the speaker has apologized to multiple times.

My thoughts converge with senator Heffley. I think it only prudent to punish the speaker if we know the actions were committed with malicious intent. I personally think that being such a poor judge of character that would hire an assistant that would commit them should undermine the body's faith in Anakin.Skywalker as a speaker.
Of course, I know that it is up to the chancellor.

 

My assistant was accustomed to lesser restrictions on Nal Hutta.

 

Then perhaps you should have made sure your assistants knew the extent of republic rules before you made them assistant of a republic senator.
I am still unsatisfied with the cases of both sides.
