Buff, NY SWN 2015 Video Duelist (Urgent Please Respond)

Hello again, and this thread is for the people who want to have there dueling skills filmed. Please find yourself a partner (one being sith and one being jedi) Post on here who your partner is or post your character and post your looking for a partner. Once you have a partner start getting together about a 10 second duel (most of which the sith end up gaining the upper hand and forcing the jedi back) The Bisons are looking to start filming end of march early april so the sooner we get going the better our duels will look.

 

Background Sith, and dibs on Gil.

 

Clean-shaven head Jedi - will partner with any Sith in need of a filming partner.

Quinlan Vos - I'll need a Sith capable of MMA style sparring.

 

I can do either Sith or Jedi. Need a partner though...

 

Note that the recording of Jedi-Sith dueling pairs is not for background action. Recorded duels will be "featured" - recording will focus on the choreographed duel to show off the skills of the two duelists, with post production SFX, on the big screen; if any help is needed to have the duel set up with stage fight style blocking, let us know so any of our official choreographers can work with you in advance of the filming day.

 

I am available, have no partner, but it sounds like you only want higher skill level people. Is that right?

 

We don't want to segregate people so anyone interested we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Your duel may just be a quick 3 or 4 moves, but basically the sooner people can start dueling together the beter everyone will look no matter what there skill level is.

 

This aspect of the show is a response to those who wish to have screen time to show off their dueling ability like Steve and I did last year. We leave that up to club members, whatever their skill level, to decide whether or not they want to take advantage of this opportunity.

Also, if you were hoping to be filmed dueling, and haven't already posted, please do so as soon as you know. It will help the production team have an accurate idea of how many duels will need to be fit into the filming schedule.

 

What scenes are these for? Unless the script changed from January's meeting, I think I have an onscreen battle already as Jenner. I'll probably need a partner for that scene though. Either way, I'm up for some fun!

 

We have your partner lined up for the dueling scene that was written out for Telsh; assuming that scene makes it into the actual script.

 

Question- I currently have a custom lightsaber that does not emit sound. Does the lightsaber need sound for the SWN video/on-field dueling?

 

No. Nobody will hear it. Most of the sabers don't emit sound.

 

Indeed we have no requirement for lightsabers used by our club members. At this time the only guidance given has been that a lightsaber should match the member's taste as well as financial resources. I would add that one should get a "dueling" quality blade; while control should always be exercised by performers, blades will make contact and sometimes with force. Thus, display quality or physically collapsible blades are viewed as not appropriate for performance.

Hilts equipped with sound cards are cool and have often held up to dueling; the need for maintenance, however, is also associated with such use. Generally, sound is best suited to our other appearances, like birthdays, libraries, bowling alleys, etc. where spectators will have a good chance of hearing the SFX sound clips.

 

I would like to participate as a Sith for the video. I currently do not have a partner.

 

I'd be interested dueling as Jedi. I currently have no partner yet.
(But, if Peter doesn't have a partner - and I don't have a partner..... )

 

Elaine and I have determined that we will duel each other for filming. Elaine will be Jedi, I will be Sith.

 

I have the costume and saber to be a Jedi, looking for a partner however.
