SWORD

In this world of war
Where no one knows who they are
I stand alone
I am solo
Darkness haunts my memories
Ruin is my only reverie
Ghosts are my only company
Around me my world is crumbling
Dissipating, disintegrating
Upon itself it is imploding
Tolling ever is mortality?s bell
I have no word for life but hell
I live one day to die the next
As voices ring in my head
I stand alone
I am solo
My destiny is engraved in time and space
I have allowed myself no grace
Corroding ever is my soul
I have but one way to go
But like a rusting jeweled crown
That one way is only down


I am drowning
Slowly slipping
I take no outstretched hand or rope
For me no longer do I trust hope
I have but one salvation
I have but one escape
I have but one redemption
I have but one placation
Death, hold me in your sweetened grasp
As the moments sleek slowly past
And in death as well as life
I am alone
I am solo

I am the Sword
