The Star Wars RPG is basically Dungeons and Dragons, exept, Star wars. you create a character and go on quests and stuff. its a lot of fun.

i was thinking that perhaps we can set up a date weekly/bi-weekly/monthly where we get together and play. Me and Exalted_1 are farmiliar with the d20 system(how the game is set up, pretty generic for rpgs made by wizards) we could help you along on learning. once you understand it, it becomes a lot of fun.

this could be a great way for us to have our meetings too.

The place is called Acme Games, look it up on mapquest under cincinnati ohio, and if you know where mt washington is, then thats great.

All we need to decide now is the day of the week and the schedule.

I was thinking of friday or saturday perhaps, and if possible every week, but if that cant happen then, bi-weekly. we should do it maybe around 5 or 6 PM. I think they usually stay open until 10 or so. we would have plenty of time to play then.

BASIC TERMS

GM= Galaxy Master or Game Master, they play the enemies and random events, they are pretty much sadistic bastards whose only purpose is to prevent you from reaching your goal.

Class= your job

etc. etc.

Exalted, try to bring a few rulebooks, im getting (i think) the core rulebook for christmas.

also, I have been working on a campaign idea:

-military based campaign... era of play & faction is negotiable for the moment.

-starting out at 5th level as to be consistant with abilities of well trained troops.
-3 levels of soldier, 2 levels of 1 additional class of your choosing. please note that no two characters are permitted to be alike, and no Jedi or force-users(I have another Force-based Campaign idea brewing but is not quite ready yet).

-Game system is the D20 WOTC(wizards of the coast) RPG(role-playing game) core rulebook & additional errata(no sourcebooks, as I will be using them in a GM[game master] capacity). No other sources will be allowed at start of the campaign. This will help to simplify Character creation & to aid those new to roleplaying to grasp the basics faster & better.

-Recommedations: once an era of play and faction is decided, then it is highly advisable that you think about the background & personality of a character that will keep your interest as well as develop as the campaign progresses. I am not interested in recreating a video game or board game. although i will be as visual as possible, it is the players and their interactions as their characters that really makes RPGs come alive...what would Episode III would've been like if Anakin didn't really love Padme' or if Obi-wan didn't care what happened to Anakin? the very nature of role-playing games rely heavily on the players themselves having fun & being genuinely interested in what happens to the characters.
Otherwise, the game itself won't last long and will get boring fast. This is the voice of experience talking.

I know I seem picky, but it's for a reason.


So... what era(timeframe) & Faction would people be interested in?

 

fantastic, exalted you seem to have things for the campaign under control,

it would make me proud to have you as my GM

hmm.... galactic civil war era perhaps, and empire... yes

unless you say otherwise this would restrict the force sensitive and jedi classes, and no aliens, humans and human like species only

The classes are(i think):
fringer, noble, soldier, scout, scoundrel, and tech specialist

there are some prestige classes too, i dont know them offhand but me and exalted will expain when we play

 

this wed.? I'll need confirmation on tranportation. and also I'm still working on the maps and plot still. If really pushed I could have it ready, but I can't make any promisies. not to mention we need a confirmation list as to who is coming.

I'll try to get a few people I know to come, but I won't know until almost wed.
