I know Oz; I just wanted to pour salt in those wounds. ;)

SOE, avoid Thailand until late April onwards, 'cause it's monsoon season.

I'll be swinging by on the way back from Ire, so it'll be around late July.
Stopping by to scout the Muay Thai camps.

What I love is how religious leader think these youth actually would listen to them...damn, I very seriously doubt any would go to church (and that is on both sides. This is just a very very big turf war..nothing more

They have that at my local video shop for some reason. The cover alone tempts me to hire it.

As for Cronulla, I wouldn't be adverse to destroying the whole suburb with hydrogen bomb, and then rebuilding from scratch, as someone earlier suggested.

TOGETHER WE CAN BUILD A FUTURE FREE OF THE BOGAN MENACE.

Ummm... people from Cronulla are hardly bogans...

The latest news is that they have completely closed down the main roads and bridges leading into the Sutherland Shire to prevent any potential problems. So noone can get in or out right now...

    There goes xmas shopping :(

They've also closed down Newcastle beach and a few other beaches down the coast at night ... apparently in response to large numbers of drunken idiots loitering on the beaches there a few nights back. (Little do they know that this pretty well describes Newcastle beach on any given night ... but hey, if they want to use race riots as an excuse to get idiots off newcastle beach at night, so be it)

Yeah but I'm scared he might try and make me drop the soap.
And besides, sure soap leaves less marks but coins certainly hurt more.

Actually I'd rather just Thai kick him in the knee. :p

Dullsville? I though it was Dullesville, named after influential brothers John Foster and Allen Dulles!

Something that puzzles me in the way this was reported in the media, and indeed, the title of this very thread.

    Why the plural?

One by elements of the rally on Sunday afternoon (if not a riot, then mob violence) and two by supposedly Lebanese groups on Sunday and Monday nights, if I recall correctly.

Nope, there was the riot on the Sunday, but isolated groups on the Monday and Tuesday nights do not a riot make.

Just another media over exaggeration I suppose...

"riot : a disturbance of the peace created by an assemblage of usually three or more people acting with a common purpose and in a violent and tumultuous manner to the terror of the public." - Merriam-Webster Dictionary of Law

They fit the legal defintion of a riot. If anything, by this standard, the media seems to be under-reporting the instances of riots. (Which is not to say they don't salivate whenever they do report one).
