I have noticed how the media and the public at large seemed to use Anakin's downfall as the main focus of the Prequel Trilogy. There have been some who have also discussed the downfall of the Jedi Order and the Senate, but everyone seemed to be focused upon Anakin. So, I began to wonder - what if Anakin's flaws were a reflection of all the major characters' flaws. Nearly every major character has been guilty of one or more flaws projected by Anakin - arrogance, tendency toward emotional attachments, impatience, etc. And this has led me to ask the big question - is Anakin's downfall basically a symbol of the downfall of the Old Republic and its inhabitants?

I say yes. His downfall does not occur in a vaccum.
