My thoughts on the PS3 are as follows. I refuse to pay for a Blu-ray player, and at E.B. the other day they had a demo unit and in the top right hand cornor popped up "Unit is overheating, please turn unit off"



i have an explanation for this and it was exactly the same for Xbos 360 in many EB stores.

EB do not turn off their units at any time (or at least 90% of stores do not switch on units) and they are stored with very little ventilation, this causes many of the demo units to overheat. our 360 in fact sparked several times before we opened up its display area for ventilation.

 

i have to admit, ive had my 360 crash on me a few times. telling me the disk is dirty and turn it off to clean it.

but this has happened on a few disks and they all looked clean....

 

It's a different experience for everyone, no matter the console. My 360 hasn't crashed at all, and all the bugs people continue to report regarding it, at least of the original release, have never appeared on mine ... so far

Im interested in checking out the Wii Version. Two handed web slinging sounds promising with a flick of the nunchuck and a flick of the remote!

Did you enjoy the previous Spider-Man movie based games, Scream?

 

Oh yes i did. Spiderman is a bit dated now, but i still go back yt Spidey 2 just for some web swinging fun. Ultimate Spiderman was also very good, but the swing mechanics felt slightly less fluid than the movie game.

 

let me just say that 2 player DBZ on Wii can be hazardous to your health

 

I just got a new game for my Vectrex console..."Solar Quest"....droool!!

 

Nothing beats Tiger Woods on Wii, I almost knocked my father out cold, while getting a birdie

 

Halo 3 lands in two weeks! Can't wait for that one.

 

Anyone play Bioshock?

 

no, but i have heard nothing but good. I'm going to grab it with whatever 24/7 pays me

 

BioShock is very purdy.

Guitar Hero 3 is almost upon us as well (a month or so!) anyone a fan of the series?

 

Guitar Hero! Personally I have never seen anyone playing it who looked like they were having fun. I normally see stationary people playing and no expression at all

 

It's called concentration. It can get intense, especially in the later levels

And bioshock looks amazing. I played a demo at the WCG a few weeks back, very impressive. I'm tempted to get it, but probably not for a while yet. Might download a demo and see if it works on my PC ... means I save $20 or so compared to the 360 version

 

Team Fortress 2 Beta is awesome.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is due at the end of the month also, which im looking forward too!

 

Bioshock is tremendousness.

But my computer died after only a few hours of playing (unrelated erm human-based death with lots of smoke and swearing).

So I'll have to wait until I put together a new machine to play it again.

On the other hand, the new machine will be bigger and badder. And so will Bioshock.

 

Bioshock seems good on 360 from what little i have played. Ill do more when i get th chance to have a go.

 

Great game, runs well on the PC but do not expect a long adventure. Pretty short game but then again that is what we have come to expect these days. Short graphic heavy bursts of fun and adventure.

 

bought halo 3 this afternoon, finished halo 3 this afternoon. campaign was alright still has nothing on the original though. yet to test multi player

 

i wish i cared about halo, but i didnt even like the first so its never really grabbed me.

 

Just finished MOH Airborne for the first time. 4-5 hours max gameplay. Series is looking and acting very tired. The last level goes slightly Wolfenstein like. AI is not great. Up close nazis are sometimes very stupid, on the other hand focus on one from a great distance with a rifle and he will know it and hide! Very COD like and no real stand out challenges.

 

Quake Wars is awesome!!
