?ETA 2 minutes.? Whacko said, and began to focus himself.
Draeks acknowledged and started scanning the ground below for signs of whoever had set off the emergency beacon. He was so engrossed in his search pattern that he barely even noticed when Whacko announced they were in the near vicinity of the signal. He did however, notice the flack exploding around their fighter and the dazzlingly sharp manoeuvres that Whacko was pushing the ship into. A loud bang and sudden lurch towards the ground announced that one of the dozens of turrets had managed to score a hit and only Whacko?s incredible skill with the fighter prevented them from becoming a nasty stain on the ground, unfortunately the few seconds he had to keep the ship steady allowed the turrets to draw a bead on them again and knock them out of the sky.
But I can?t die yet, Draeks thought to himself, I haven?t killed any of those damned Fluties yet. Then the ship met the ground and darkness claimed him.

Seconds, minutes or even hours later, Draeks had the vague sensation of heat. Then of flying again, only this time without a ship. The sheer impossibility of that idea pushed him towards the steady growing light at the end of the tunnel, which suddenly focused and became the image of a Bothan commando about to try slap Draeks back to consciousness. As the other Bothans hand came downwards Draeks own arm shot up and intercepted it, ?no need for that kid, I?m awake. You didn?t happen to get an I.D on that swoop jock who hit me did ya??

Moss recoiled from the Shadow?s unexpected anger, but quickly recovered his composure. And frightening as the man?s anger might be, it was highly instructive. The Bothan Admiral filed away that little tidbit of information away for later use, should it prove necessary, then turned his attention the holofeed he was being shown. If Moss had been a Human his skin would have gone deathly white, his eye blood red with rage. With him being a Bothan his skin was hidden beneath a dense layer of fur, which had suddenly become limp and lifeless. But the eyes. The eyes turned that same rage fuelled red.

W-3PO did not respond immediately, instead waiting until he arrived in the chamber where the Think Tank had been sequestered. "Statement: We have no Victory Star Destroyers in-system. Movement of Victory Star Destroyers from out of system would be an excessive use of fuel for this task. Suggestion: Determine the most efficient use of the vehicles in-system to ferry the populace back to Hypori's surface."

But W-3PO had not come to harass R9-E8 about his lack of knowledge of the DIL's current fleet movements. He had come for the sheet of flimsi in one of his sensor-shielded compartments from his Old Republic Intelligence days.

"Statement: I have a task for your Think Tank of the utmost secrecy." He handed R9-E8 the sheet of flimsi, on which W-3PO had drawn up a tentative design and listed a series of features. "Objective: You are to design this to my specifications or better. I expect to pay at least as much for one unit as I would for an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, and for it to be worth every credit. This project is never to leave these chambers until it is finished. Statement: My original plans for the money in the DIL's Muunilist account are no longer viable. All of that money is yours for the research, and I trust that since you will neither be leaving here nor communicating externally, you will use only what you need for the project and not spend any extra.

"Threat: If it is discovered that any of your team leak information, it will be considered an act of high-treason and you will be deactivated in the most painful way possible. Statement: To ensure secrecy, you will not be able to communicate outside this chamber until the project is done.

Klaxons blared in the command cores of the battle droids. They rose up from their resting positions and drew their weapons as the airlock was breached. Drawing their weapons, they awaited their commander's order to fire.

The droids resembled old Baktoid B-1 Battle Droids, except for a thin Durasteel gray plating and modernized internal systems. They were the product of a Droid-building process around the fall of the Empire that stated "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and so the cheap droids remained cheap, but with slightly better armor and weapons to compensate for the slightly better armor and weapons of modern organic armies. OOM-14 scrolled through a series of sensor suites, trying to find one that was not flared out by the arc welders breaching the airlock or obscured by the smoke.

As soon as the targets were in sight, it gave the order, "Fire," to which nine identical voices responded, "Roger, Roger."

The bioship was, of course, fake. It was extremely advanced technology, which mimicked biolife. The word?s ?Spray the area with perfume? were actually code. The perfume was, in reality, a powerful nerve agent. Strong enough to stun a Wookiee. Seran watched as the Captain, and his four men team fell to the ground, out cold.

Instead he let a low chuckle, a pre-recorded sound stored in his droid memory. He stared at the Captain, who was sat in a entechment chair, IV?s placed in his arms. ?Any last requests?? In an instant Maric?s life was gone. His spirit was moved into a droid body, with a preprogrammed loyalty module to the Ssi-Ruuk. The simple droid chassis moved down a conveyer belt, as robotic arms applied synthiflesh to the droid?s frame, and it steadily became a exact replica of Malic, his eyes, his fingerprints, his DNA. All way exact replicas of his original body. Seran walked up to Malic, and a smile formed on his face.

Marric wanted to scream, he found he couldn't. He wanted to warn everyone on the ship, he found he couldn't. He wanted to contact Anaxes and warn them, he found he couldn't. This must be what Polinka was going through, or whatever was left of his mind. There was something blocking him from doing what he wanted. He finnaly found out how to search his new droids systems and then he saw it, a loyalty module. Oh no. He tried to dismantle it, but the moment his mind drifted towards it he had the mental feeling of being slammed into a wall before being set on a different course.

If there was any bright spot to this, it was that anything in the ships logs the Ssi-Ruuvi managed to aquire would only hold info from the last time the ship had been in orbit of Anaxes. So they wouldn't hopefully know whatever the full scale of Anaxes defense was. If I'm a droid now then they have probally downloaded the contents of my memory, will they plan an attack on Anaxes? His thoughts drifted to his mother and father, his sister too, she would be graduating from the officer's academy soon, he had hoped to be there to see it and now he hoped he wouldn't, if only to avoid hurting anyone.

"It is good to be here." He said without truly willing it, the loyalty module had compelled it.

?That is correct. Both your statements are correct. Let me clarify. The New Republic had power. It was afraid to lose it. It didn?t want to lose it. Have you seen the technical readouts for the Corellian system? The home of the New Republic? It is defended by a huge fleet, including 3 Super Star Destroyers. Yet this is nothing compared to the size of the Imperium?s fleet at Bothawui alone. The Ssi-Ruuk could wipe the New Republic off the map. And yet they don?t. Can you think why??

Smith smiled as he watched Kira digging through the trash. Suddenly G7 shouted "There." Smith carried the droid to the pile of trash, where a 1 meter square tunnel was obscured by trash. "This tunnel was used by service droids." G7 said. "But you should fit in, albeit in a crawl." Smith dropped the droid, and looked at Kira. "I'll go first, and drag the droid through, if you take the rear?" He chuckled. "That isn't an innuendo either, by the way." Smith took Kira's hand, gave it a squeeze, and began to crawl through the tunnel. "G7 where does this come out?" He asked, and could hear G7 from someway behind him. "Into the access hallway for the bunker itself, Agent Smith." G7 said. "I beg of you to hurry up, Agent Smith - my circuits are starting to cramp..."

The trio slid out of the access tunnel, and into the bunker access hallway, as G7 had promised. "So you got one thing right, Droid. Who knows I may not have to blast you today after all." Smith said, sounding slightly depressed, before motioning at the bunker door. "Well, you know what they say Kira. Ladies first."

The reaction of the pair of commandos brought a grin to Draek?s face, although the idea he had for the detonators quickly wiped it off again. ?I?m not to bad as a sniper, above average but not by much. I?ve got an idea for those detonators though, it?s not gonna be pretty. In fact, it?ll be down-right ugly. But it?s practically guaranteed to get the Fluties all riled up and ready to chase after us.?

?I want you to take those detonators and get them in nice and close to their entechment labs, inside them if possible.? Yet this is nothing compared to the size of the Imperium?s fleet at Bothawui alone. The Ssi-Ruuk could wipe the New Republic off the map. And yet they don?t. Can you think why??

I think it is merely the Ssi-Ruuk enjoying the fact that the two most powerful empires in the Galaxy can?t hurt them.?
