?Is it complete?? Maya asked, pacing back and forth around the room. She pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders, trying to keep the cold at bay. It was futile. Even deep under the freezing surface of the Chiss homeworld of Csilla, the temperatures were sub-zero. She had discovered that pacing kept her slightly warmer ? but could not quite understand why the blue-skinned, red-eyed aliens could not install heating fields. She continued another tour of the room, before repeating her question. ?Is it done??

Gejo'han'hlen raised his head from the electro-microscope, and gave Maya Yubari a piercing look, before returning to the microscope. He heard Maya resume her pacing. The hurried alliance between the two System Lords, and their respective Systems; was rushed, and had, yet it was necessary. The virus which had originated on Vorzyd Vhad spread, trading ships between The Kingdoms of Polis Massa and Vorzyd V, and The Democratic Chiss Ascendancy carrying the virus had rendered many KPMV and DCA colonies uninhabitable, including Vorzyd V itself. This was one of the reasons Maya Yubari was in the room, and after pacing another circuit of the room, she asked the question a third time. ?Is it complete?? It was the second reason the two System Lords stood in a freezing laboratory, nearly a kilometer under the surface of Csilla. Here the virus could be studied safely. It was too cold for the virus too survive. Here a cure could be created.

Johan Gehlen turned around to face Maya Yubari once more, and gave a weak smile. ?I think it is.? He said. ?We must first run field tests, on the infected, but the primary analysis of the virus, and the cure, in a sterile envionment, shows overwhelmingly positive results.? Johan stood up, and took of his white lab coat, revealing a shirt and trousers. Maya looked at him again, pulling her nerf coat tighter. ?How can you wear that!? She exclaimed. ?You know, I?m nearly positive you must be cold blooded.? Shaking her head, and pulling her coat tighter once more, offered Johan her arm. ?Shall we preceede to the surface?? She asked, and Johan smiled, a real smile this time, he took the offered arm, and walked with Maya to the turbolift. In no time at all they had reached his ice barge. And another challenge.

Maya?s mother, famed ? and feared ? System Lord, Raine Yubari, had recenty awaken from a 20 year comma. Unfortunately, it had little effect on her resolve, or views. ?If it were me, Maya, who was once again in charge, then I would have never had to ally with these?? She looked pointedly round the room, before spitting the next word. ?Chiss. ? Taking a breath, Raine spoke again. ?I would have had the resolve, and the guts, to terminate the problem at it?s source. What is ten thousand deaths, if it saves a million.? She said, and opened her mouth to rant once more. Luckily, Maya had reached her, and grabbed her arm. ?Back to the quarters. Now.? She said. Raine shook her head. ?Your brother would have never done this to me.? 2 Chiss gaurds escorted Raine out of the room, Charrics ready to fire.

Shaking her head, Maya returned to Johan, and offered a weak smile to the Chiss on the bridge of the flagship. ?I?m sorry.? She said, and turned to Johan. ?I?m afraid she embraced the old Empire, and it?s prejudice. She never accepted Thrawn you know.? Johan?s eyes tightened a little at the mention of Thrawn, but he shook the automatic effect off. ?It is of no bother. Today is a great day. The cure is ready. We are ready to fight back, and destroy this virus at last. The Unified Systems of Csilla and Vorzyd V-? ?Vorzyd V and Csilla? Maya but in. Johan smiled, and spoke once more. ?Csilla and Vorzyd V, will at last be able to return as players on the Galactic stage.?

While Car'das spoke to the bothans Argyle watched the entrance, even though he knew it would be next to impossible for them to have found the entrance. He allowed the other man to try to talk to those that they had rescued.

?I believe there may be. But first you must be treated for shock. I am sorry to have sprung this both on you in such a fashion. As to leaving? that may be a interesting prospect. We have not yet discovered the source of the hyperspace field. But we will.? He turned to the Bothan. ?And we will get revenge for Bothawui, I, and the Empire of the Hand, promise you this.?

Marric Renar looked up at the sound of being treated for shock. A medical exam would reveal he was no longer truly human. Which meant it would be better to reveal it himself and tell his unlikely story to the Baron who was in charge of this vessel. Hopefully he would believe him although this would more likely be his final hour in what remained of his life.

Approaching the Baron he spoke, "Sir may I speak to you, in private."

?Hello there.? A voice said. ?Glad to see your awake, and to meet you in the flesh.? Oct stood up with a groan, rubbing his hand against his head. He turned to face the noise, and saw two blurs. He blinked a few times, his eyes bleary, and the images resolved into those of two human males, one significantly elder than the other. ?Jorj Car?das.? The elder human said. ?This is Phillip Argyle I presume you must be the Vice President?s bodyguard??

?Pleasure to meet you both,? Oct replied as he looked around to make sure Draeks was here too, ?especially as I assume it means we are not prisoners of the Fluties.?
He moved forward slowly so as not to upset his head any further and offered his hand to the elder human first, then to the other. ?Sergeant Major Oct, only surviving member of the Draeks? bodyguard. And the two of us are all that?s left of the Bothawui Resistance.? He paused for a moment as memories of all the fallen, especially Dye and Karka, assailed his mind. But he quickly brought his thoughts back to the present. ?What happened out there? Last thing I remember was an instant hangover grenade coming through the canopy, then I woke up here feeling the effects.?

?Bothan!? Moss heard the Shadow call, but the fury in him carried him beyond the distraction.
?Admiral Moss Yab?ia, stand to attention!?
Moss growled deep in his throat as military habit overrode natural fury. He turned smartly on his heel and snapped to attention. He snatched the chips that the Shadow held out for him and shoved them into his pocket.
?These chips will help you,? the Shadow explained, ?and your fleet. They contain the hyperspace protocols to get back to the galaxy. And they have the co-ordinates of a meeting place. You want revenge for Bothawui? Then I must ask you to attend this meeting. Convince the other System Lords to be there.?
Eyes still blazing red with fury, Moss leaned in close so his mouth was just beside the Shadow?s ear, ?they will be there?? he snarled, ?or they will die! Make sure whatever you?re planning doesn?t disappoint.? Then he turned on his heel and made his way towards his shuttle just barely hearing, and barely caring, what the Shadow said to Malana. She soon followed and entered the code to unlock the shuttle, ?after you,? she began, but Moss just brushed passed her and made his way to the cockpit.

10 minutes later
Despite his fury continuing unabated, the Admiral found he could still land his shuttle gently on the deck. Without a word to Malana he strode down the ramp and made his way up to the bridge.
He handed the chips the Shadow had given him to the navigation officer, ?analyse these chips, they contain the protocols to get us back into the Galaxy. Set your course for Kothlis and make the jump as soon as possible.?
Then he rounded on Malana, ?Come with me.? He led the way into his ready room at the back of the bridge and waited for the door to slid shut behind the human woman. ?You are going to explain to me exactly what this meeting is the Shadow wants me to attend, and you will explain exactly why my presence is required.?

"Sir." They both said, and nodded to each other. "What is it you wished to talk to us about?"

Azervado spoke up, in a rather serious tone, "Earlier today I recieved a message from the Bothan Coalition leader, Besk Nay?ek. I'm sending the message to you now." A few button presses responded with sending the data stream to the other people in the conversation.

?Fellow System Lords,? he began, ?I speak to you today not as a competitor in galactic politics, or an enemy on the battlefield, but as a Bothan who is fast running out of choices. Today, the Ssi-Ruuk again struck against the Bothan Coalition, wiping out more than three billion souls. Three billion souls I was forced to leave behind when the Imperium invaded my homeworld. Three billion people I took an oath to protect, and failed. Three billion people, who will not go unavenged. Since the fall of the Republic and the Empire, the Imperium seems to have focused its attacks against my people, my worlds. But it is only a matter of time before they turn their attention to your worlds, your people? Your homes.
Will you wait for that to happen? Will you wait, as I have so foolishly done, for the Ssi-Ruuvi to come to your doorstep? Or will you join with me? Combine your military might with that of the Bothan Coalition and take this war to the Ssi-Ruuk, to their planets, to their people. To their homes!?

Azervado spoke up once more, "We have always known the Ssi-Ruuvi would eventually move on those that remain free from them, the main reason for our military and defense buildup. If left to just me I would agree to this in a heartbeat but it would not be just Anaxes that would face the consequences should we fail, which is why I will not commit to something like this without your world's agreement. I understand if you feel you need to think about this for a time."

ooc: I will get an opening post up later this evening hopefully, I'm just bogged down with work and putting together Prenn and my fleet and everything is taking ages, it doesn't help its very tedious and i get bored quickly. So hopefully tonight, if not tomorrow.

OOC: I hope that you haven't given up on me, my loyal players - I have been suffering from certain effects of motorcycles hitting the ground at high speeds, the result of which was a broken leg. Fun fun fun. Anyhow, here is the update. I hope that my accident has not caused the death of this RPG - we're not finished yet!


A small, one man fighter descended through the planet?s atmosphere, the ion particles reacting with the fighters shields to create a fireball effect. The burning field surrounded the X-Wing, blinding the pilot. By the time the pilot had cleared the upper atmosphere, the reaction stopped, and the fires burned out. The pilot took an involuntary gasp at the sight in front of him.
He checked his navigational charts, and looked back at the planet below him. This was not how he remembered his homeworld. His homeworld was temperate. This... this was wrong. The surface below him was n longer a temperate blue-green paradise. It was a frozen wasteland, reminiscent of Hoth. The fighter passed over miles of white sheet; there was no signs of life. He looked in vain at his scanner, and felt his gut wrench as he saw it was blank. A flashing green burst of aurabesh appeared on the screen, stating the message over and over. No Life Signs Detected. No Life Signs Detected. Sighing in frustration, the pilot flicked the scanner off, and continued to speed over the surface of the planet below, lost in thought, when a beep jarred him to awakeness. His scanner. He flicked his eyes over to the scanner, confused. He was sure he had turned it of- The thought trailed off as he read the message flashing up on the screen. ?One life sign detected. Range 500 kilometers.? A sense of hope instilled the pilot, and he set course for the direction of the life sign immediately.
Within half an hour, the pilot had arrived. He saw a single figure, his black dress forming a silhouette against the stark white background, his face encased in a hood, with a dark visor covering his eyes. As he landed his craft, the pilot waved at the man, who smiled and lifted a hand in greeting. He jumped out of the X-Wing onto the snowy white ground, and immediately regretted his decision. The chill hit him immediately, but that was not the worst thing. The worst thing was the wind. It bit into him, pushing itself into every area that his suit covered. The pilot shivered, and walked up to the dark-clothed man, who passed him a white coat, the same colour as the snow they walked upon. The man turned to face the pilot, saluted, and offered a hand. ?I?m Agent Smith, Sir. Welcome to Anaxes.?

?Analyse these chips, they contain the protocols to get us back into the Galaxy. Set your course for Kothlis and make the jump as soon as possible.?

?Yes, Admiral.? The Bothan officer said, his body shaking in fear at the anger evident in the Bothan Admiral?s face. He moved back to his station, and loaded the chips, in no time, he had the route planned, and had initiated the jump, seconds later the ship was surrounded by the familiar sight of hyperspace. The Officer watched the Admiral disappear with the human women, and turned to face his junior officer.
?What?s got into the Admiral?? He asked allowed, and received a small shrug in reply. Shaking it off, he moved back to the chart. They had a wait of T-18 hours till they reached Bothawui.

Meanwhile...

?Come with me.? The Admiral said, and led the way into his ready room at the back of the bridge and waited for the door to slid shut behind the human woman. ?You are going to explain to me exactly what this meeting is the Shadow wants me to attend, and you will explain exactly why my presence is required.?

Malana took a seat at the desk, her eyes wide in terror. She began to speak, but found her voice had disappeared. She took a deep breath, and spoke once more. ?I know nothing of the details of the meeting. Only that the Shadow requests your presence there, and that you must attend/>/>

?It is alright, Captain, I know of your true identity ? or more to the point what you really are, as opposed to whom. You are an enteched soul. However, it appears, strangely, that you are able to achieve your own thought, without any interference from the inhibiter chip. The only conclusion I can draw is that the inhibiter chip has been destroyed. Is this correct??

Marric's shock widened on his mechanical face before fading in relief right before the bothan's shriek of rage was heard. Not trusting himself to block the blow without injuring his sudden foe he moved backwards and out of the way with lightining speed provided by his mechanical body. As soon as he felt sure the bothan was either restrained or something he replied calmly to the man. "It is destroyed sir but that was not the cause of my freedom, although I destroyed it soon after. My... fake personality was attempting actions that would cause my crew to be in direct danger. Our opposed... wills I guess clashed and I continually failed until the last time I suppose I drew from my anger and somehgow clashed quick enough that it confused the inhibitor chip and suppressed the wrong personality, I took advantage of this and in addition to destroying the chip I made certain the thing that changed me was no longer a threat to my crew."

The last several months had been hell, the destruction of Anaxes' surface had been pretty much absolute, it would take easily many years of terraforming and restoration to restore it to even close to it once was. At least most of the radiation was gone know, stored as power for a generator that could keep the shelters running for a very long time. Well, it had not been entirely bad, at least inside the small bunker she and John had to themselves, and she was very thankful for that. Of course it had a tunnel connecting the the main intelligence bunker but they rarely used it.

A few minutes ago they had detected a fighter flying in a search pattern and John had chosen to step out of the bunker so his lifesign would show. She heard him now even. ?I?m Agent Smith, Sir. Welcome to Anaxes.?

Kira stepped up through the small flight of stairs and exited to stand behind John wearing her own extreme weather jacket. I apologise for those who thought that this might be an update - it isn't. Basically, really life is totally ****ed up right now; and I don't know when an update will be up, if it will. It seems I have no choice but to put the game on hiatus - until, at the earliest, the 20th June. I did not want to do this, but I feel that I owe my players, who have stuck with me this long through the game, a reason for my abscence, if not an explanation. Tempted as he was to push for more information about this ?agent?, Moss knew that the human wouldn?t willingly divulge anything the Shadow had told her to keep quiet. So he filed it away in the back of his mind and moved on, ?we should be arriving at Kothlis within the next 12 hours. So if there is anything about my experiences these past few weeks the Shadow does not wish my superiors to know then I suggest you tell me now.?

While Ricky spoke with the president Acsai put a call in to the Sith ship, ?Captain Ctica, this is chief engineer Acsai. Our search failed to turn up any survivors, is there any chance you can send a rescue shuttle to pick us up??

Katarn and the rest of the ACF managed to steal a shuttle and fled the Commenor System.? Besk replied as his comm signalled that the Irys was calling again, ?Besk here, what?s happened over there??
Even over the static filled connection Besk could hear the pain this Bothan was feeling. ?This is engineer?s mate Ricston on board the Irys. Everyone?s dead sir. Someone set of a high yield nuke on the command deck, the only reason we survived was the containment shield here in engineering. The ship?s about ready to fall apart and even with a full crew I doubt we could get her going again without months in a shipyard. We?re planning to self destruct the ship and try to hitch a ride with the Sith ship that just turned Ruusan into slag. What are your orders sir??
Besk muted the comm. And turned to Jacen, ?will your crew help my warriors? Or should I just thank them for their service??
