Amph T2 Trainspotting

So my favorite movie's sequel finally has a trailer.



I was worried before, but I think I'm going to enjoy the ride. It's Danny Boyle, after all, so I know it will please me in some way (I even enjoy The Beach!). I'm a bit worried about all the callbacks, but... no, I will keep a clear mind. Get off me, Rylo Ken! No matter what, I'll always have my cherished original.

Yeah I'll be keen to see what their reason for bringing Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie back together is, but I mean... I'll see this. Obviously.

 

It made sense in the novel. But I don't think they're following that except in the loosest sense here, going by the trailer.

 

Will this be consistent with T1's opening crawl?

 

Yeah, I don't think they are getting much from Porno. The bar? Little more.

Which is fine by me. Porno is not a bad book, but it pales in comparison to the original.

 

Definitely seems a move away from porn and instead drugs as the moneymaker. I think they will stick fairly close to the story line of Begbie being unaware Renton is back in town for a large part and where that ends up.

I think that's what happened....I read the book almost as soon as it came out.

 

It looks like they are still going with Begbie getting out of prison being what starts the plot rolling.

If it has anything close to that car pileup and the final battle of the bands, I'll be satisfied.

I have the novel that is the sequel to Trainspotting. It's about to be bumped up the reading list because i'm looking forward to this.

 

Please tell me Edward Furlong isn't in this.

Very excited to see this. Renton is the most well aged junkie in history.

Yeah I didn't think they were adapting Porno because of the time lapse but I actually did a quick bit of research and turns out they, well, they are. Sort of.

 

Rent Boy and Sick Boy and Spud sorta got clean by the end of Trainspotting (Well Rents popped his vein again to make sure the stuff was good in the finale) so they didn't get as haggard. this trailer is amazing, though, I watched it a jillion times and visually it lets Danny Boyle cut loose even moreso and Trainspotting was already really out there visually so hopefully they can push it further (the Spud falling off the building bit is great). I'm seriously as excited for this as I am a Star Wars movie (gonna try to bail on any more teasers either).
