Never read any of Richard Morgan's books, however, I have ordered from Amazon.com Market Forces.

    Anyone read it?

I am also interested in the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy --- anyone read this, reviews, thoughts, etc?

Altered Carbon is really good cyber-noir. And by really good I mean **** awesome. Although the sex scene might have been a bit too much.

broken angels is really different and i didn't like it as much, and i haven't gotten Woken Furies yet.

Haven't read them (and the old thread had about 5 posts, not enough info ;) ). When they arrive, tell us how they are :)

Altered Carbon is one of my all time favourite impulse book purchases (based on the cool silver cover. :p) Excellent book. Never read the others.

I know I've read Altered Carbon but I don't remember that much about it. Like Marcus, I think I bought it for the cover. I don't think I've read any of the others.

Altered Carbon is superb and sometime I'll go back and read the other books in the Takeshi Kovacs series.

The Richard Morgan book that really made my day was when I read Black Man (published as Thirteen in the United States) for the first time. Wow, there you have a flawless sci-fi novel that is irresistible. Highly Recommended! :)

    Sounds similar to Blade Runner?

I read Altered Carbon a while back, and it's nice to see other people have as well - I think he's one of the best new science fiction authors out there at the moment. AC was dark, gritty, like Blade Runner but more violent.

I also just finished Broken Angels, which was also quite good, more in the military scifi realm than I had expected.
