At the present moment I am reading Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina.
I want you to tell me which of the tales in the Mos Eisley Cantina are your favourite?
This will then hopefully give me an idea which tale to look forward to and I can place my opinion on which are my favourite tales and why?

My personal fav is The Sand Tender : The Hammerhead's Tale. But the whole book is really really good, for sure one of my favorites. Whereas in other SW you go along the characters throughout the story, there you go inside them, and that is much stronger... (I hope I was clear on that last sentence...)

Davin Felth's tale was good, but the best one was Dannik Jerikko's tale i was cool and the Anzati seemed to sense the Jedi thus making him a possible Force Adept.

I liked the Moisture Farmer's Tale, though it was a bit boring.
I also liked the Jawa's, Ranat's, and stormtrooper's tales, and how they all fit together so nicely.

I stopped about halfway through, but I occasionally read one story in between major novels. I this the last one I read was the one about Wuher. For some reason, I couldn't get into the Tonnika (sp?) sisters. Nothing against Zahn, but I've never had much interest in the characters.

You know the Greedo story is out, right? Greedo grew up on Tatooine, which makes that story noncanonical (is that word right?).

Is Greedo growing up on Tatoine canon yet? The Rodian Anakin picked up a fight with may well be another Rodian.

Wald is now that Rodian. Greedo never grew up on Tatooine. That was all behind the scenes stuff.

I liked the Wolfman's tale (I think it's the last one) a lot.

Nope, it's Greedo. You'll see when we get the DVD.

Then it's another Rodian of the same name. Simple enough to fix.

They are all pretty good but you'll have to read them all to make your own opinions.

I agree. It's not as though the scene's actually going into the movie, it's on another part of the disk. And do we know it'll have the "if you keep this up, Greedo, you're going to come to a bad end." line in it at all? It's not in the novelization.

It's interesting to note that the SE "Greedo shot first" scene isn't contradicted at all by TFTMEC.

The Jawa's tale, the moiture farmer's tale, Lak Sivrak's Tale (aka the Wolfman's tale), the sandtrooper's tale, the hammerhead's tale, Wuhr's(spelling please) tale (aka the bartender's tale), and the best, personally, Hammertong(spelling please). But I still suggest you read all of em and decide which one's you like best.

Stormtrooper's Tale for me - it was good to see things from an Imperial prespective, albeit a rebel-tinted one. Also the Lamproid and Wolfman story - nice exposition on Hoth and Endor.

Bib, I love the EU as much as the next guy, but I'm afraid the movie wins here. Lucas wouldn't write a scene about a Rodian named Greedo with foreshadowing of his future if it's a totally different Greedo. I really liked the story in the book, but I'm afraid they'll have to slap Infinities on it unless they say that the cutscenes aren't canon.

Greedo's Tale, and frankly I don't care if Lucas intended Anakins foe to be the same Greedo. I will regard him as a different Rodian.

I also really liked 'Empire Blues' and 'Nightly: The Lovers Tale'.

Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina was only my second Star Wars EU experience after TTT and it is still one of my favourites. No other book gives a more vivid impression of 'ordinary' life in the Star Wars universe.

    Yours

The official site's databank still has the TFTMEC backstory. And I'll repeat my question. Do we know for sure that the cut scene specifically identifies the Rodain as a Greedo?

TC, yes, I am pretty sure. As I recall, Anakin's says Greedo's name. Look at the picture from the DVD at the link below. It says "Anakin's scuffle with Greedo".

    EDIT: Try this link.

True, but we still have no proof that the Rodain in question will be called "Greedo" in the actuall cut scene.
