Sadly, I'm not photo savvy at all. I'll try to get my sister to post some pics of Maxfield on FB. Unless you all have advice on how to transfer pics from my iPhone?

Since we can't upload photos directly here, perhaps the Facebook links to the images would be the best bet. And I agree with IamZam, please keep posting photos. Every cat is beautiful and adorable and brings back wonderfully memories of my girls. So thank you everyone for showing off your furry kids here.

Maxfield is starting to come around to both the collies, however she scratched Glory on the face. Probably because Glory was trying to be a nanny.

 

My cat Timmy keeps trying to nurse off me, even though he knows by now not to expect milk from me.

Cats make such individual noises. Vader makes this plaintive "Ayow" noise, Mei-Mei makes a soft "Mya. Mya." sort of sound, and Iro makes the best noise I have ever heard from a cat--this high-pitched "Brrrrooo?" I want his meow as a ringtone.

 

I have two cats, Max and Matilda. Max's meow is like a regular meow, while Matilda's is more of a "squeak."

 

Our long standing joke about Thatcher was that she was Mae West reincarnated (that cat wasn't fixed, she was broken); her meow was this seductive take on "Meh" (just imagine Marilyn Monroe saying that in a playful tone.) And it was through Thatcher that I finally made the connection with the modelling term, catwalk.

Cabo squeaked for awhile, but her later meow was also pretty funny: "Brrowwww."

 

Erma's vocabulary is comprised of "mrr."

 

In a way, we're like the ancient Egyptians: we write on walls and worship cats.

Question!

A neighborhood cat keeps coming into my house and sleeping on the guest bed. I thought since it is the guest bed, maybe it thinks it is a long standing guest, but it also sleeps on the couch and watches us video game. It also doesn't want to leave when we shoo it out at night. I am 90% sure it has a home but it is practically moving in. So, my question is this, what percentage of the cat do I own?

 

I think that depends on what percentage of you the cat owns.

Can you bring it by a vet one day to see if it has a microchip?

 

I saw a thing on the internetz about how someone who was time-sharing a cat attached a folded-up note to its collar so that its owners would know where it was going. Maybe if you do that, the other people will send you back a message, via cat, and then you'll know who they are.

Or they could, like, put an ID tag on their cat. Whichever.

 

Cat doesn't even have a collar. I just think it has a home because it looks pretty well fed and has long furr that is always brushed. I could put an ID tag on it and see what happens.
