I havn't started reading the book yet even though I bought it on the first day out (want to finish up the latest Walking Dead book before I start) however I looked at the amazon bestsellers list and Tarkin is already on there at #42 and #60. So sounds like it is selling really well.

We already have a thread in which you can discuss Tarkin.

This news did not require its own thread.

Yes I realize that but the problem is is the main thread is a spoiler thread. So since I havn't read the book yet and don't want to have to sift through all the possible spoilers best thing to do to start a thread outside of the spoiler one.

The Crystal Star was a New York Times bestseller

Suffice it to say, being a bestseller means nothing to me. :p

Not that I think Tarkin is bad.

Means nothing to me either I don't judge merit on money, copies or such. Popularity doesn't equal quality. Though I understand that some do.

Actually it probably had a lot more to do with the fact that it was about a movie character. Books about characters from the movies are always going to sell better than books like AND (that is made up of brand new characters except for an occasional reference to a person named Obi Wan).

Nice to know to that star wars novels are still selling well. You know, I wonder want other characters could have their own books? A R2-D2 , Count Dooku or Chewbacca novel wouldn't be bad.

I added my purchase today to the numbers. Local bookstore was down to one copy and I bought it.

I gave in and bought the Tarkin-HC, too. However, I did not buy the AND hardcover (sidenote: I have all SW EU books and comics). And I'm not the least suprised it didn't make the NYT bestseller list. who on earth would buy a hardcover tie-in novel for a kids series with a cartoon cover??? I'll wait for the TPB.
