I hope these number averages are wrong because IMO Season 2>Season 1>>Season 3 but I really really enjoyed these past 5 episodes of Season 3 and that must of boosted it's average way up.

 

Um, if you look at the results I posted above, you'll see it is the second least popular episode of season 2.

 

Senate Spy is one of those episodes that I just can't stop changing my opinions about. At first I loved it, then I thought it was awful, and now I think it is pretty good. Basically my thoughts on it are: Great setup for the Geonosis battle, one of the better political episodes, and some of the most character interactions we've seen yet in the show (even of Anakin and Padme's roles were reversed).

So, I guess it was a pretty good episode. Not the best by a long shot but not half bad either.

Alright, these ratings are done with the major reservations that (a) I'm doing this off the top of my head and I haven't watched some of these in a long time, and (b) some of my ratings will likely be different than how I originally scored them. That's due to hindsight and simply because I'm now ranking them across all 3 seasons, rather than comparing each episode against the other episodes only in that particular season.

Actually GG, I think your S3 score is 5.1, because you can't rate something if you haven't seen it.

 

I didn't even count in those episodes I didn't watch.

So S2>S3>S1, but the difference is marginal.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the episodes or seasons like some of you have because to begin with. They are subjective and not a real indicator of how an episode has done. Furthermore, each of the epsiodes for better or worse are needed to tell the complete clone wars stories. GL is making sure that all angles are covered. Though EU material makes its way in, its to fit into GL universe not vice versa. I also thought that the clone war movie and season 1 were not that great, while season 2 and 3 really kicked off the intensity of the show with the animation, storytelling, and set-up. If I were to give a rating the movie and season 1 would be a 5, with season 2 a big 9 and season 3 a 9.25. Season 2 brought a lot of action that was lacking in season 1, and from the begining, the episodes were not a drag to watch. Can't say that about season 1.

Season 3 was up there because the storytelling is finally taking shape. The show moved away from the kiddie fare from Winder, Gilroy and what not, and more intense in story. I'm glad that GL is involved with the series becasue it makes it very coherhent with the movies, and his involvement and changes were evident in season 2 and mostly 3.

Season 3 was an overall improvement over the entire run and for better and worse, we needed the political episodes. The clone wars isn;t just about jedi swinging lightsabers and rex blasting droids, and Grevious always coming out like an idiot. It's much more, and I think that this season brought about more inforamtion on how the galaxy in whole would turn and become an Empire, and why the Republic collpases.

Yeah one of those was me, I actually like the episode.

I enjoy spy undercover sort of shows, I like Anakin and Padme, and it was a nice little interlude between action arcs with some good character interactions and Lott Dod, I've enjoyed it every time I've watched it.

 

What do you mean 'everyone'- I do but many others obviously don't- look it's there on the bottom....I tend to be the rebel soul who disagrees with majority - Mortis sucks (Adulta Ahsoka,Shmi and Qui-Gon were awesome in Overlords that's why 7), Plo is not cool, Ahsoka must not die(we agree on something), Han Solo would be ok in TCW (still don't get it why little Solo is so hated idea- galaxy IS small) and Senate Spy is good- it's simple and great Lott Dod is awesome and there is no stupid added actionscenes it's pure political intrigue with poisons and all....
I understand why many don't like it it's bit boring no explosions or war seen but next episode compensated it well enough- you can say it's awful but i frankly like it.... ok maybe 9 was bit too much but i don't want to change it anymore after i made calculations and all....

 

Humble, what's the point of counting (doesn't mean, not posting) the ratings of those who didn't watch some of the episodes, or the last two, of Season 3? It's not very good for the accurancy of the graphs you're making.

 

WoW! I´m very positive, I´ve never thought of that But in Season Three I won´t be an average score .

And I liked Senate Spy, as I liked Senate Murders, HOBS, the political part of The Zillo Beast Strikes Back and Tresspas. I disliked Pursuit of Peace, Supply Lines, Mandalore Duology and Sphere of Influence, but I think they were good ideas with bad scripts.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting wrong averages or anything...

For example, if someone watched 9 episodes of season 3, his total score will be divided by 9 instead of 22, but the problem is that the average is based upon only half of the episodes.

I suppose I could make a separate season 3 table for now, in which I only include those who watched all the episodes. (Although in season 2 & 3 there's always people who missed a few episodes here and there, and I'll have to count them - However that is not so bad as rating only half a season.)

In any case I'm waiting with making the graphs for now, although I could do them for season 1 and 2 at this point. I was just hoping to get as much 'missing data' as possible before drawing conclusions about season 3.

In any case these results will differ from Gry's, which will be based upon all the episode polls, but it's fun to compare.

I'm not talking about that. For example, let's say 10 people watched all the episodes, and other 10 watched half of them. If all 20 watched Holocron Heist and only 10 of them watched Blue Shadow Virus, the average rating of those two episode can't be compared.

Yeah, which is why I didn't want to draw conclusions unless I had the 'missing data'. But I redid the table to only include the people who graded the whole season.

 

I'm pretty disappointed with this approach. My understanding from something Gry suggested was that during the off Season(oh the next 6 months or so) we were going to go through all the old episodes one at a time, giving each its own thread - kinda one every two weeks or something.

This would have given everyone an oppurtunity(by providing time) to go back and rewatch the older episodes before giving them an official score.

It would also give this forum steady activity until Season 4 shows up.

I'm honestly not comfortable going through and ranking episodes that I haven't watched in several years without a second viewing, and my life doesn't provide time for a marathon.

I guess I'll simply opt out.

 

As for the politics angle of things, I just want to say that even though for some the lines "high interest rates" is annoying as anything can possibly get, politics is what drives war. Without politics, THERE IS NO WAR. Or otherwise, simply put, WAR IS POLITICS. Just because the title says "Wars" twice does not mean we have to see clones slicing up droids for approximately 22 minutes. Episodes dealing only with blasting and chopping up droids would get as boring as the string of political episodes that so bothered some people. "Senate Spy" was an 8 because there were faults with it, but it also lead directly into the Geonosis arc. The only things I can agree with regarding the negativity is that "Corruption" and "Evil Plans" were just plain ridiculous.
