Anakin's outburst in ROTS doesn't seem so petulant now.:p

What the hell is this writing top to bottom and quoting five people at once ****?

I don't remember much about Durge; I just bought the micro series on DVD but haven't taken it out of the wrapper.

But the Vong are by far some of the most menacing and interesting villains in the GFFA.

You know who was a damn good villain in TCW, better than Dooku or Grievous? Cad Bane.

Palpatine in the show was creepier as himself than as Sidious.

Cad Bane & Hondo were two of the best things to come out of TCW. Those two villains were done right.

But, didn't they have a duel in the Clone Wars pilot movie? Also weren't there other episodes where the fought? Didn't they fight in that episode where OB1 went undercover w the Bounty hunters in the plot to kill or capture Palpatine?

    Yes, so it's a retcon.

In the novel Dooku didn't know Anakin and Obi Wan changed style so that's one of the reasons he didn't handle them well, but with TCW, meh.

All that means is that they never had any extended eye-contact during any of their TCW duels.[face_whistling]

That's how they could have had Grievous fight Anakin in the show! Just have them refuse to look each other in the eye!

They dueled a lot in TCW... too much. 3 duels between Anakin and Dooku in Season Four alone!

AMEN! There were many awesome evil things to come out of the show...

I love my CIS baddies... but yes... Tamson's eating frenzy was awesome!

AND... Meh to all the Durge hate.... [face_dancing]

TCW ruined Vos, made him a surfer dude. Fail, no meme required.

    Well... kinda true.

But he was there for one episode and he is kinda like Anakin. I mean goes to the dark side, falls in love, has kids...

TCW did not ruin him, but more like oversimplified him.

Vos was almost the Venom of SW comics for me.

TCW Vos was nothing like character in the comics, or my fanfic.:p

Oh, don't even get me started on Grievous. I much preferred his portrayal in CW as being able to massacre six Jedi Masters at once, rather than being whooped by a pre-pubescent Padawan.

I mean, no more spinning torso, no more jumping all over the frigging place, no more using lightsabers with his feet... the only good thing about TCW Grievous is Matt Wood.

So you'd prefer if Grievous had this voice in RotS (or a variation of it due to the Force Crush on his chest)?

While I like this voice a lot, it does sound a tad generic, as though we've heard it many times from many villains in animation and videogames. Matt Wood does do a good job of adding his own unique spin on Grievous' voice, to the point where you'd recognize it as General Grievous immediately.

Honestly, I think both suck. First guy is bland as hell; Matt gets hammy in the extreme. Much as I love Ian McDiarmid, he's guilty of the same as Sidious in ROTS. "Once moaaaar the Sith will ruuuuule the galaxy...."

Yeah, his performance after "deformed" was a bit over the top, maybe it's the script's fault. Before that he portrayed Sidious fine when he shows up before Dooku and the CIS leaders mostly in hologram.

    :D

They actually had Grievous' personality down. It's just his dueling skills were a little disappointing. I even thought his performance in ROTS was more convincing, whereas in TCW, he either strikes with one saber at a time, or strikes with all of them at one target... the CW Grievous was so impressive because he could actually multitask and overwhelm his opponents through multiple attacks (and that was with two arms). The initial effect of him detaching all four arms and him having hands cut off has also been diminished due to the amount of times it's happened.

But when he's not fighting, he's the same old evil general that we're used to. Brutal as ever.

Star Wars is full of ham, OT and PT and TCW alike... Especially the OT.

Matt Wood does a great job!

Matt Wood is alright. Its always harder to judge vocal performances with aided effects.

True is true. But this is what gives Grievous flavour for me... how hard to replicate the voice is.
