For one Maul challenged Sidious's title by calling himself the true Sith lord and taking an apprentice. That's a rival. That's something you attack and kill before you are chased out of your pride lands and all your plans for galactic domination go up in smoke. When it comes to something that serious the phrase, "You want something done you gotta do it yourself." comes to mind. Another problem with involving Dooku is he is rather well known as the leader if the CIS. He shows up on Mandalore someone might assume its an invasion. That might throw a monkey wrench in some plans.

Sidious also puts some life into the "When life gives you lemons you make lemonade" saying. When life throws a former apprentice at your who should be dead at you, and he proves to be a fairly good tactician taking over some gangs and a whole planet you beat him into submission and use him. Sids was never in any danger himself, that was so one sided a fight it could be in the Robot Chicken sketch.

That's much less than Luke and the rebel, they were publicly opposing Sidious' empire and Luke got great potential to surpass Sidious. He already blew up a Death Star, some super weapon the Empire took two decades to make. What did Maul do compare to Luke? Did Sidious say "There is a great disturbance in the Force, prepare my Shuttle" then came to kill Luke or make him succumb?

That's not Sidious't style unless it's someone like Plagueis, too powerful and too dangerous.

Sidious wanted Mandalore to join the CIS, and Dooku could hide his trace well enough. If Sidious himself was found, that's going to be a huge problem.

He took over the gangs mostly because Viszla went dumb, otherwise he would be killed right there. Compare to Dooku and Luke, Maul is not a threat at all, and we don't see Sidious deal with Dooku or Luke by himself in the beginning.

Eh, its slow at work right now...

Well lets see, what's a big difference between The Clone Wars error and the Age of the Galactic Empire. Could it be that Sidious has fully won control so he didn't have to worry about some upstart ruining his plans to take over because they had already succeeded? Didn't Sidious pretty much almost kill Luke anyways ROTJ?

That's not Sidious't style unless it's someone like Plagueis, too powerful and too dangerous.[/quote]

There comes a time in everyones life where, "If you want something done you gotta do it yourself". Sidious has those moments as well and this was one of them.

I know your probably getting that from some EU source but as of "Lawless" all Sidious wanted was to go kick Maul's ass for challenging him and threatening to knock down the deck he's stacked. Mandalore may yet join the CIS anyways since now Maul is in that deck.

Maul took over those gangs to get the man power needed to take over Mandalore and hold onto it. Maybe he overestimated how much he needed but that's another story. Vizsla went along with Maul because he thought he needed a force user. Remember Satine's Jedi bro Obi-wan Kenobi? Obi-wan easily beat Vizsla in the season 2 duel.

Yes, it's CW era, so Sidious had to be more careful about it because it's certainly not going to do him any good if his identity is exposed. What he did in Lawless is taking a big risk.

Yes he did try to kill Luke, after let Vader do it alone in EP V and use Vader to fight him in EP VI, rather than jump out in EP V and beat the crap out of Luke.

Compare to Dooku and Luke, Maul is not such a big threat.

And he could do it by use his apprentice and other forces rather than risk himself. If Dooku was exposed, it's just an invasion, if he was exposed then it's going to be a much bigger disaster for him.

We already discussed it right? Obi Wan could not handle so many Death Watch in their own ground, especially when he got Satine to protect.

Of course he isn't! I mean, any random Joe who was taught by the most powerful Force-user in the galaxy can miraculously survive bisection, take over Black Sun, the Hutts, Death Watch and a whole planet whilst training his own apprentice, who happens to be have been a secret apprentice of his current Padawan! Not to mention that he knows his master's true identity and can blab any minute, he claims to be the true Lord of the Sith thus rivalling him, and has the potential to control over 2,000 neutral systems, which can create an army big enough to interfere in the Clone Wars, thus messing with said former master's plans to take over the entire galaxy as Emperor!

But as you say, not a big threat, eh?

Have you actually read this? Why should he send Dooku, when that could turn out a failure and would just give Maul more time to decide wether it was better to expose Sidious or not?

Further Sidious said he has use for Maul. Again, sending Dooku could have failed, so Sidious had to go Mandalore and make Maul submit to him.

    No, compare to

    1. One of the greatest Jedi Master in this era, now a more powerful Sith Lord, with great reputation and charisma, leader of the CIS, Not to mention that he knows his master's true identity and can blab any time, he was also trying to betray his master, and his CIS already controlled half of the galaxy, which was the republic's big foe.

    2. Probably the most powerful Jedi in the history, son of the chosen one, who already destroyed the Death Star without much training, who ended Banite Sith' empire, later defeated countless Empire's warlords, dark Jedi, Vong, even took down Abeloth with other's help.

Did Sidious kill no.1 by himself? NO.
Did Sidious try to kill no.2 by himself before his apprentice failed? NO.

Dooku also knew the identity of Sidious, did Sidious kill him by himself? Dooku already knew the identity of Sidious, and he gave Vader a chance to do with Luke, someone who could be much more powerful than Maul.

The concept of what it means to be Mand'alor is muddied by the New Mandalorians. According to the Essential Guide to Warfare, the New Mandalorians refused to recognize any Mand'alor named by the warrior clans. Shadow Conspiracy states that at the end of the Great Clan Wars, Satine was named Mand'alor by her people. Satine's naming, however, comes at the same time Jango Fett still holds the traditional title. Up until his death at Geonosis, there are two different Mandalores, each viewed as the sole authority by their respective societies. So Vizsla deciding to name himself as the new Mand'alor once he deposes Satine doesn't quite have the same universal level of authority that you think it does. The clans don't recognize a new Mandalore until Spar.

I'm not sure where you're getting that idea. It's been established that the Crusaders conquered numerous planets and wiped out several entire species during their crusades. They had multiple star systems to Kun's one, they had the entire Taung and Jakelian races, countless Mandallian Giants, and everyone else they picked up and integrated into the army against two dozen fallen Jedi and couple hundred Massassi. The Krath droids also aren't going to compete against the Crusader's Basilisk war droids, noted to be able to take on Jedi.

This isn't Mando fangirling here. This is the objective assessment that a fighting force capable of taking world after world and genociding entire races, is going to utterly crush the relatively small-scale forces of the Sith Brotherhood, which can't even match the GAR for manpower.

.I was trying to point out that there is a different between then and now. Its as significant a difference as seeing a full cookie jar on Thursday and today the cookie jar is empty. Sidious is at more risk of Maul exposing his identity if he's not reigned in than of people saying. "OMG! That's a Sith lord walking down the street!" to some dude walking by in a black cloak in the middle of a god damn war zone. Mandalore was on fire. Folks had plenty to distract them.

Pffft, Maul is a way bigger threat. An immediate threat. He called himself the true sith lord. Easily the most effective TCW villain OOU. Mandalore ain't the first planet he set on fire to lure Obi-wan to him. IU he's already burned down a few planets and killed some Jedi in his quest for revenge. The Jedi Council may have though he was just a dumb criminal but the evidence says otherwise. Not to mention he survived being cut in half. Who survives that?

If Dooku is exposed invading Mandalore, republic gunships will be there by morning. Sidious goes there himself, kicks some ass, his plans are still on topic, and not Mandalore is dynamite under his thumb

Yeah, we've been having this same discussion for like a month now. Nah, Obi-wan about killed Vizsla when they fought in season 2. He would have mowed them down soon as he got over the little crash.

Ya know... I can quote The Lion King word for word. I'ma use that talent now...

-Rafiki hits Simba over the head.- "Ow... jeez what what that for?
"It doesn't matter! Its in the past!" -Rafiki
    "But it still hurts..." -Simba
"Ah yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it you can either run from it or learn from it..." -Rafiki

True Mandalorians were pretty much wiped out in the civil war and even Jango was dead 2 years ago before Maul arc. What are you trying to say here? And the new Mand'alor never had any opposition from other clans.

It was made clear in the comic if Ulic won, he would have the forces of Teta and Mandalore, so it's pretty much one system VS another, some planets does not count much before Kun's Massassi(through special process) and his creations. So what? Aleema's Supernova made one of the most powerful races, the Dashade went to near extinction in one shot.

And it's not Ulic challenged the Mandalore, it was the Mandalore challenged him, clearly it's not some easy fight. Why are you keep ignoring a whole system of forces and keep calling they are some small scale forces?

He went by himself also could take great risk to expose himself, so use others is better choice. Dooku also knew it, did he kill Dooku by himself?

No, his Force was so strong like I pasted, and there was a Jedi in that planet.
And how is comparable to Luke, the most powerful Jedi in history or Dooku, the leader of CIS? Again pls, he is a Sith Lord, Dark Lord of the Sith after he got the title of Darth.

If Sidious is exposed, then GAME OVER for his plan. Dooku is not stupid ,really

Yes, but he was not facing just Vizsla, but him+Bo-Katan and a few Death Watch, not to say he got an injured woman to protect.
