Merry Christmas to all Star Wars OT fans out there. This is a just a taste of what is coming.

Feel free to ask questions, we'll answer what we can.
    ================================================================
    Team Negative1 Presents :
    =========================================================
The Empire Strikes Back - Renegade Grindhouse (version 1)

Welcome to our first official release, the 35mm version
    of The Empire Strikes Back.
    --------------------------------------------------------
    December 2014,

As a thank you to the OT community, and those who have followed
our projects patiently for many years now, we are releasing an
early version of the movie. We hope that people everywhere can
view the original version as Lucas released it back in 1980.

We understand there is still a need for the fully restored
version to be completed. However, we think that documenting
the other prints we have is also needed for historical
perspective. Some, but, not all of the flaws are kept intact
to be indicative of the condition of the print.

    --------------------
    Format : 1080p/720p DVD9 MKV
    VIDEO : 1080p/720p .h264 video
    AUDIO : 35mm theatrical, aac 256 kb/s Audio,

Where : Currently, it will be uploaded to usenet, and other sharing sites.
    ----------------------
Corrections : Minor cleanup with some color correction.

History : The Empire Strikes Back was the first print procured
by Team Negative1. 6 x 35mm reels were scanned and archived.
Some of the reels, 1 & 2 for example, needed to be replaced.
Reel 3 was damaged heavily, and later replaced with a reel that
    had 90% of the footage.

Some scenes had warping, and all the heads and tails had
    damage on them.

Technical : Scan resulted in a HD 1080p version. There have been
several downscales to 720p and 480p files. Sound has been recorded
    and matched to the video.

    Compatibility :
At this point, there is no GOUT compatibility or subtitle support.
Also, the audio is English only.

Methodology : Originally, we had considered waiting for cleanup to be
completed before release. However, during the last several years, the
team has changed. Members have left and other members have joined. Prints
have come and gone. In fact, we now have a partial FUJI print, and a
secondary complete FUJI print that is very clean with minimal fade.
This will probably be the source of the final cleaned and restored version
that is still being worked on.

Raw Data : We currently have no plans on releasing the raw frames of
this version, however, if you have a project that needs certain scenes
    we will consider it.

Future : There is possible news of the rumored LPP foreign version of
the Empire Strikes Back, this is still being followed up on.

Thanks to George Lucas for his vision, Fox for releasing it, and
to all the artists, actors, writers and creative people associated
with this. And for all the inspiration and hard work that was put
    into it.

Please support the official releases, and purchase the DVD, Blurays
    and other related works.

    Team Negative1

This looks very interesting, but the CT forum isn't really the appropriate place for this type of promotion so locking.
