HOW did the Star Destroyer crash on Jakku?

Note that it's mostly intact.

Sabotage? Was the drive section merely destroyed?

Did a force user bring it down, ala Force Unleashed?

 

There is also the crashed upside down Super Star Destroyer. How did that happen?

I must've seen that trailer 30-40 times now, at least. And oddly enough, unwittingly , I always seem to to cut it short of the Ford scene. End it there watch again

Compliment in all seriousness. Wish I was well versed in all that is SW.

 

I don't think that would have any bearing on it. It will no doubt be a popular game but it won't reach most of the wider filmgoing audience. It also will likely focus on just one battle sequence. There could be a much bigger story to tell in a movie.

If anything it could serve to promote interest in a future movie rather than make one less likely.

 

They showed the trailer again on the news today but I missed it I was having Continental breakfast at my hotel but a family member saw it and told me about It.

 

Who needs the news? You can watch it on the internet as many times as you want.

Well the panel said that you'd get to see how the ship got there etc. so I'd be surprised if they allowed a game to come out in Nov/Dec. that details the battle of a spin off movie. It's not impossible, but it's unlikely. It's more likely that it's just interesting background detail like the bones of the Krayt dragon in ANH or the ruins on Naboo.

 

I wonder if the ships crashing on Jakku had anything to do with Luke doing something 'crazy' with the Force.

 

Brendan Donnelly did say in an earlier rumour post that Luke was so powerful in the force that he could move mountains and bring down starships. Who knows, he could have played a role at Jakku.

 

If Battlefront lets players take control of god-tier Luke as a hero character during the Battle of Jakku, I have a feeling a lot of people on this board will be really happy.

 

Five more days until we get to see this on the big screen!
