One of the disks in our filer system failed miserably and it took about 2 hours to rebuild a new disk and solve DB restoration problems. 3 techs are on the scene and the IT folks are working w/ the vendor to make sure this won't happen again. Sorry for the downtime folks!
IT folks are working w/ the vendor to make sure this won't happen again. How can the vendor prevent random hard disk failure? Even the best drives sometimes just crap out.
How can the vendor prevent random hard disk failure? Even the best drives sometimes just crap out. Typically, 99.99% uptime is guaranteed as a part of an SLA. Total failure (sev 1 incidents) usually need to be fixed WITHIN ONE HOUR to meet those SLA times.
thanks for the comforting words, zerosleep; bet everyone went bananas during the down time. fortunately, I was at work.
