I really think it would be cooler if we had spaces in our usernames, why cant we?

I believe Snowboards aren't designed that way, the only people who do are people who had them that way on the old UBB boards. Not something that could change without reprogramming the boards, I think. Raven or zerosleep could tell you more about it :)

If you don't have them now, you never will.

He can't add spaces though. Snowboard doesn't allow spaces in your username, no matter what changes Zerosleep can make.

Actually, zerosleep has fixed Gandy's spelling, and edited a few other usernames. He has access to the database, which means it is highly possible that he could add a space to someone's username.

Spaces signify rank, adding another imaginary layer of heirarchy to an imaginary community.
    Why mess with that?

From my understanding the reason that spaces weren't allowed on this board is because someone can register "droideka27" and then register "droideka27 " (adding a space on the end) making it almost impossible to tell who the real poster was to the casual looker

    .... or at least that's what i heard. I wasn't around.

Much like my reg date: It's merely there to make me more important then you.

And crucially, more important then DarthAttourney.

Spaces signify that the said poster registered back in the UBB boards before these Snowboards came into focus. The names were then transferred over to this board, but they were never literally registered onto these boards. As some people have said, Snowboards just isn't designed that way.

Some people say people with these spaces deserve extra respect or credibility, the truth is that they are the same trolling nerds we are, they just tend to be more of jackasses than us. That picture comes into play when the whole register date comes into focus. It's really kind of stupid if you think of it, considering 01ers call us 02ers newbies all the time although i did register in 01 under a different name. [face_mischief]

Wouldn't the highlight behind your username (like blue in the YJCC) show there was a space?

I would assume so, but that's still going to be pretty easily mistaken for the real user if they have the same icon and sig.

In short, it's just too problemmatic.
