    Happy Birthday!

I know this probably won't do a whole lot but you know, I thought I'd bring it to your attention anyway.

About all you can do is apply the latest security patch for IE.

    I don't think I've ever had a single pop-up on these boards...is this a common problem?

If I saw that pop-up, I'd be flattered.

If you are experiencing difficulty with pop-ups on this site, the most convenient solution is generally to simply use FireFox 1.0 or higher (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/). For the hardcore spoiler-free who wish to avoid seeing Revenge of the Sith icons, the adblock extension can be used to block all images from http://www1.theforce.net/icons/episode3/.

I used to get pop-ups a lot when I used the work PC. However my home PC has a pop-up stopper so I never see them.

There's nothing stopping you using the USB-Flash drive version of Firefox (Portable Firefox) to prevent all this nonsense happening.

Alternatively you can locally install firefox onto your school computers and run it from there. Any 2-bit net geek knows how to install and run software on a "locked" computer terminal.

Your issue is with your school using WinME. That's really kinda sick for a school to still be using that. Get your money back.

I'm using MSN internet and have a good pop-up blocker, which stops nearly every single pop-up.

Your school still uses Windows ME? [face_shocked]

Anyways, we should be moving soon, and I assume IGN's ads will be no more (although I'm not sure about TFN ads). :)

Well our school uses Mac9, so WinME doesn't sound too bad to me. :)

On a wider note. I have a pop up stopper but still get pop ups on TF.N & JC.

    Advice?

Well like Bob said, it could be a problem on your end. You may want to download this.

    What browser do you use?

Everyone is better off using Firefox.
