Technological Advancements: OT vs. PT

I'm pretty sure it is stated somewhere that Anakin was modifying him and maintaining him. Remember how he built a protocol droid from spare parts?

I guess without his maintenance in the 18-20 yrs between ROTS and ANH, those awesome rockets broke down.

But I digress...

 

The thing with the OT is that it took place near the edge of the galaxy. So the technological is not going to be very nice looking. They had only what was need. Well in the PT it takes place not only near the edege but also near the center. It was also the golden age so to say of the galaxy. Where as you can see the OT as the sliver age and it is moving from the era of Palpatine into a better one. A new Begining.
