Tekken or Virtua Fighter?

Just curious which people feel is the better fighter of these two franchises? I've never really paid much attention to either much, as they always seemed overshadowed by MK and the Capcom fighters for my attention at arcades. What do they have going for themselves over the other?

No seriously, I prefer Tekken, but really you can't lose with either.

I hate all fighting games, but I'm pretty decent at most.

I prefer Tekken but I think Virtua Fighter is a bit deeper. Also I hate Eddie.

I'd go with Tekken if you're looking for more people to play against, as the series is a lot more popular in America. But I think the consensus is that Virtua Fighter is a little deeper and a bit more balanced. Both are two fun, well made franchises though.

Overall, I prefer the Virtua Fighter series. But I think Tekken 3 on the PS1 was probably the best game of either franchise.
