Phx Tempe Town Lake: ** Major update on page 2!!! ** (no food, backpacks, etc)

Scottsdale isn't. Paradise Valley isn't. I don't know of any other town in the greater Phoenix area that is doing fireworks.

It looks like the Tempe town lake is the only fireworks show in town. It's going to be swamped.

Should we cancel the pool party and just go straight to the town lake early, or would you rather start with the pool party and have us move en masse to the town lake earlier in the day and continue the party there?


I think it may be best to head over there about 3-4PM, and just carry on the party and enjoy the festivities that we'll be paying $5 for anyways.

If we're going to do this, then we will really, really need shade. I'm not hot (no pun intended) on hanging out in the sun and heat all afternoon long, but I don't have an awning tent. But at the same time, if we don't show up early, we don't stand a chance of getting a spot on the grass, let alone a parking spot.

Feedback? Thoughts? Alternatives?

Yeah, I'd say send some over earlier to secure an area, but don't cancel the pool party.

 

I'm still all for the pool party!! I have no problem heading over to TTL early, though. It's probably a good idea.

if i go to the party (why wouldn't i?), you're guaranteed my canopy.

however i'm not particularly looking forward to setting it up, so would one of you handsome blokes care to be a peach and erect our shade, so to speak? hehe

 

I'm sure we won't have a problem getting the tent up.

Both at the pool party and at the TTL.


Don't forget to bring any movies you want to see, especially Monty Python. My DVD player is on the computer, so we'll need VHS for the pool.

 

Just a note-I believe you can get 4 tickets for $15 so if some of you wanted to save a few bucks that might be a good idea.

Is everyone going to be meeting somewhere and going to the lake? well at least those that aren't able to make it to the party

Also, what will parking be like? I'm thinking it will be every driver for him/herself. kinda like Fri. and Sat. nights

 

I think it's going to be a mess finding parking. I'm sure they'll have additional parking/overflow, but the best thing would be just to get there early.

And bring sunscreen.
