I have to check that comic out, sounds interesting.

Forbidden now, but I grew up in a cleansed area. Clearly the number of students here show why it's a forbidden place.

Living in Michigan, I could've told you that Wheel of Fortune airs before Jeopardy!, which is how it's been since I was a kid back in the 1980s, without this map.

Pennsylvania says Austria - should be Austria-Hungary. Most of those immigrants were actually Eastern European Slavs.

 

"Russia & USSR" on New York can only mean one thing - time traveling Soviet sleeper agents!

 

You probably figured this out, but for clarification, the map compiles data from the decade 1910-1920, so the USSR and Russia both existed as separate entities during that time.

 

Actually, I had assumed they were using modern classifications for immigrant groups without regard to contemporary era, as is mentioned in the disclaimer text.

 

USSR came into existence in 1922.
