[TFN] access denied

I guess this would go here.


When I try to go to theforce.net I get this message

Acess denied

Retrieval of that file is forbidden


???

 

I'm getting it, too, so it's not just you. Does anyone know what's up with tf.n?

Malkie, I was just thinking that. Mf was shut down but their boards left open. Could it be the same case?

LFL haven't shut us down.....it's probably just a server glitch. (I believe the boards database is held at a separate location to the TFn main pages - thats why the boards often crash, while TFn is still there).

I'm sure it'll all be over in the minute.

As for MF.com - they just moved servers, despite what rumours you might have heard

Completely different server farms within IGN.

Could be any number of reasons for why the site is down from simple problems with the servers, to switching between different sets, to alterations that require taking the entire site down for a short period, etc.

Basically, don't worry unless it's still down this time tomorrow.

If we're ruminating and suggesting dire things for TheForce.net, had they posted anything lately that may have annoyed LFL? I don't recall anything, so it seems unlikely that they would have been "shut down". Seems like a tech problem is the most likely culprit.

Yes, just a few minutes ago I got the message: Access Denied.

 

Is this still a problem?

Anyhow, Zerosleep and/or IGN is/are in the middle of another round of updates (hence the changes to signatures). That's probably the reason for wonky behavior.

 

I'm getting the access denied message from the front page, on an intermittent basis.
