I just assumed the TFA novelization would be out by December

I have one more guess which involves combat rations and dead stormtroopers

    and misspelled planets

I'll enjoy arguing how Starkiller isn't a clone in TFU2

Yeah, I assume that too, but it's not the 181st place to go for that. And if there's one thing I'll enjoy less than acting as if this SW premiere will still be something special for me, it's subtracting the visual element and reading the novel first. Especially if it'll be by one of the authors who I know can't enchant me with their prose.

That one crossed my mind several times and would be nice but no, I'm not that predictable. Although... well, to be fair, it can be predicted based on stuff I did here in the past, but it's not related to Stover killing SW books for me by finally writing a great one.

I think we'll have an emotional second half of the year either way, so there's that.

I'd be open to go back to Mindar if there's huge resistance against one of the other choices, but the 181st hasn't really raised its voice for over a year.

See, this is the attitude I want in here.

I can't wait to do the NJO hardcovers either, because I'll use it as an excuse to talk about how the whole point of the series was to deconstruct the paradigm invented by West End Games and largely picked up by the Expanded Universe and fans in which the Force was merely a power source which came in two flavors -- a perspective which is embodied by the character of Anakin Solo (and dies halfway through the series), with the new paradigm heralded by Episode I with its queer notion of the will of the Force represented by the hero of the story whom at its conclusion achieves apotheosis! (briefly)

"The Hero With A Thousand Faces" isn't the december surprise, either, you know.

    ...

Although I really wish I'd thought of that.

It is George Lucas' Blockbusting, isn't it?

OK, apparently I switched to a parallel universe when setting up the new thread and my signature. I had announced Glove of Darth Vader in here, hadn't I? Why in Trioculus' name did I switch to Eaten Alive, then? Nobody has that book. Well, nobody has GODV either, but people will still talk about it. So, next month, it's "smell the Glove"!

I've got that book. Quite enjoyed it too, as a "Goosebumps Meets Star Wars" story anyway.

There was a hilarious "Lets Read" of the Glove of Darth Vader series a few months ago - but I suppose discussing it again might be fun as well.

By the way, have the books become more expensive with the Legends reprints? Tryin' to get TFU2 for cheap right now...

Well, maybe they still have to pay the person who designed the banner. Or it's an expensive process to integrate the banner into the old cover graphic file, who knows.

This month, it's the beginning of the end.

It's also time for me to reveal my plans for the future, I guess, since Vector Prime really is the beginning of the end for me. We'll have the NJO-Episode-run of Vector Prime, Balance Point, Star By Star, Destiny's Way and The Unifying Force right up to November; and as I just put it, then we all drink our farewells and go to the cinema.

Which translates into: Legacy Marathon and Drinking Game 2.0 coming this December! beccatoria - I'm bringing the band back together!

That, however, will really be it for me. I'd be happy to know that the 181st will continue in 2016, but I will step down as its discussion host. Doesn't work out half the time anyway (as we can once more witness based on my punctuality this month), then there's the fact that a clear cut might be a good thing around the time that Ep7 comes out, stuff like Dark Nest, LOTF and Rep Com that I simply didn't want to do might finally be added, and then there's the fact that there'll be some personal changes coming up for me which I'll be happy to devote my time to.

So, that's that. Applications for the job can be sent to the usual authorities, I guess.

Another book closer to retirement: Star By Star.

In case nobody read my post from July - the 181st is looking for a new host. You even get a VIP name in red lettering!

it's finally time for the Legacy Marathon. Everyone's invited. If you've done six impossible things this morning, why not round it off with breakfast at Milliways, the Restaurant a Legacy marathon at the End of the Expanded Universe?
