asyr is really the only one of those that have that much going for them. most of them are shown very little as they aren't main characters (falynn and piggy), or only have the one book (vil). it's just hard to actually prove how good they are.

also, you'd be surprised how much farrell actually has going for him. i know when someone actually delved into it, and made a point of getting him some respect i wasn't expecting what was brought up.

no problem guys. this isn't like most of the other drafts, i pretty much know these characters at this point so i don't really have to do much research for it. thankfully.

 

Piggy by the way became more a main character with the latest X-wing novel. Does that affect his standing any to you to be more on a level with Asyr?

 

i'll have to look at it. i haven't had a chance to read mercy kill yet, so that's something you'll want to bring up with any of those characters that you guys have. i'll try and read it, but can't make any promises.

i believe the general consensus was that it should be two full trades.

The trade rule is stupid, we trade like crazy in the other drafts and there is NO issue at all with it. The problem isn't the number of trades Ken made, the problem is that people were offended for some reason by it.

The trade rule should be gotten rid of, it fails to prevent a problem that never existed, but causes real problems that need not exist.

 

it was that the trades were approved at all... there was no oversight on it, every trade was just approved. i've had far, far more even trades vetoed in the past. what needs to happen is for the commish to actually ensure that the trades are, ya know, somewhat fair instead of the silliness that ken pulled off.

 

That is a problem with the commissioner. You don't fix that problem by creating a stupid rule that caps the number of trades but doesn't address the unbalanced trade situation, that part is still up to the full discretion of the commissioner. What one person sees as balanced may appear to be unbalanced to another.

So what did the rule actually fix? Nothing.

Also, stop being such a blatant hater. He got some good trades, deal.

And? That is a problem with the commissioner letting unbalanced trades through, and has nothing to do with the number of attempted trades in a draft or the ability to trade draft picks.

You don't fix one "problem" by creating another and not addressing the original issue.

Really, it just sounds like a bunch of sour grapes. It is a game, he got a good trade, big whoop.

 

not disagreeing with you. i believe i stated that the problem was because of commish's not really balancing out trades so much. i've been on record in the past that i think the 2 trade rule is just stupid and needs to go. i hoped it had this time, but didn't actually look til just a second ago. we have no disagreement here mika, i'm just saying that there were some really serious shenanigans in that draft.

oh god... that wasn't even remotely the worst trade in that draft either.

Adi Gallia, 4th and 5th round picks for Maarek Stele, Wes Janson and an 8th round pick.

 

Don't blame Ken though, it wasn't his fault the trade was accepted. I was just on the bad end of a trade in the comic draft, no way was Shaggy Man in exchange for a 4th round draft pick fair in hindsight, but it happened and I ain't going to whine about it....maybe kick myself in the ass....but it isn't DarkEagle 's fault he got in on the good end of that trade, just like it isn't Ken's fault that he got the good end of a trade.

on the shaggyman thing... i'm pretty sure no one else really knew much about him, or what was fair relative to him. so i'm not precisely sure anyone could make a judgement call there at the time.

 

I know that we agree on most of it, but you just seem to be really bitter towards Ken about it.

Unfortunately in regards to Shaggy, I knew he was a JL buster. I just had my peepers on Major Force and lost my brain for a bit.

 

no, i was just informing him about what happened as a result since he hasn't really poked his nose in much. and really... there haven't been that many trades anyway in drafts since then. i don't know if it's because people are trying to hold onto them for really good deals now or what, but the volume and interest really went down.

and it wasn't just him, there were some really insane teams that draft, just like there were some really, really insane trades. orryl for myn dojos for instance? the other trades i've mentioned. sure, there were pick swaps, but a 4th round pick for a second is never going to be even, nor is moving up out of the 8th for that pick. you can't make trades like that even really.

oh, and for the record, that last one i mentioned up there didn't involved ken at all. it was you and shurron, actually. you got wes.

ah. well, it does happen. but i'm not sure inty really knew much about it to make a judgement call all that effective.
