    January

    Project Almanac
someday, there will be another good time travel movie. This one looks like the kind that will make us fantasize about going back in time to prevent it from ever being made.

    February

    Jupiter Ascending
    worth seeing for Schadenfreude value?

    March

    Chappie
Blomkamp's record is a bit marred, but I'm still in, despite the title. I don't know what it's about, but just think of it as a sequel to that Hugh Jackman movie about the rock em sock em robots. Then go see it anyway

    Insurgent
The junior varsity Hunger Games marches onward

    April

    Ex Machina
"A young programmer is selected to participate in a breakthrough experiment in artificial intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a breathtaking female A.I."
Has anyone ever seen that Al Pacino movie, S1m0ne? I didn't think so.

    May

    Mad Max: Fury Road
the king of post-apocalyptic franchises, rebooted

    Tomorrowland
    Brad ******* Bird. I'm in.

    June

    Jurassic World
    rebootasaurus rex

    July

    Terminator: Genisys
    rebootinator, rebooted

    Selfless
starring Ryan Reynolds, the harbinger of box office doom

    September

    The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials
It's the junior varsity Divergent. But the first one made money, so here we are.

    November
The last of the Hunger Games Movies
    or so we hope

    Midnight Special
"special needs" child in the sense of that kid from Looper

    December

    Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The most anticipated movie of December, perhaps of the entire fall. Probably the second or third most successful movie of 2015.

VII will probably be the most successful movie of 2015.

    Bigger than Avengers 2?

(I think it will come in behind Age of Ultron ($1.35 billion worldwide) and possibly Minions ($1.05 billion worldwide).

But even a so so Star Wars will get to $1 billion worldwide

I want to see Jupiter Ascending even though it has a good chance of being hilariously awful.

Even Cloud Atlas had its redemptive moments of unintentional hilarity.

    Probably not.

I am not excited about this at all.

I doubt even Oscar Isaac will be able to save this one.

Hardy is perfect casting. I'm in. But am I the only one pulling for a Mel Gibson cameo?

    Yeah, I think so.

God, please . . . please let this movie be good.

It'll be interesting to see how it does without the great high-concept of the first one. But don't throw shade. The first one was better than Divergent and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Yes, better than Catching Fire. Go see it, if you haven't.

    What is this again?

    Yes, bigger than Avengers 2.

Avengers doesn't have the grip on culture that Star Wars does.

Avengers doesn't have prequels that burned bridges. It's momentum is upward.

Star Wars doesn't have the issue of way too many comic book movies in a small amount of time. Plus, the general public thought III was pretty good.

Avengers made $1.5 billion. This will do the same or more. SW has no chance against it.

Edit: It also has 3-D money and Imax. Star Wars won't have 3-D. Does JJ do Imax usually?

I'm definitely pinning my hopes on Tomorrowland, the one title on the entire list that looks like it truly has the potential to be both original and good. Chappie would be a close second maybe.

Most looking forward to (besides Ep. VII, of course): Tomorrowland
Most curious about: Mad Max: Fury Road
Most apathetic about: Any of the YA adaptations
    Most dubious about: Terminator: Genisys

That film is currently holding a dubious position for me where I'm hoping it's bad in precisely the right way. If it's bad in the wrong way I'mma be pissed.

I feel you. It seems like this thing's been in production since the Clinton administration and it's been completely shrouded in secrecy. It could really go either way.

I know one thing; someone had better be wearing a**less chaps. If it's Charlize Theron, so much the better.

You couldn't have liked Ghost Protocol that much. At least for all that is holy I hope you didn't.....

    Incredibles, then?

The title sequence of Ghost Protocol was 100% Brad Bird, but not quite great enough to justify the ticket price.

but yeah, I'm one of those annoying people who thinks The Incredibles is both the best and most influential CG animated feature film of all time, and also the greatest superhero movie ever made. I know there are those who disagree, but they can **** my ****.

Oh,I was just trying to put your view on Brad Bird together. I dug the Incredibles as well, perhaps not to the same extent, but that's the answer that makes everything all right with the world.

Because he was committed to it, Tomorrowland is the film Brad Bird had to turn down directing VII for, so it had better be good.
