    Yes there are issues but nothing compared to the concern we had with Bush.

    I definitely preferred Obama over both McCain and Romney, just as I preferred Kerry over Bush. I still have admiration for President Obama's social views and his opposition to guns.

    I appreciated how President Obama said that ISIS is not an existential threat to the nation. Fear works, but the truth is preferable. I also liked how Obama spoke about money in politics. This may be a moment akin to Eisenhower's speech about the military industrial complex. It's good to go out saying the right thing. I imagine the president will have more such moments. But let's look forward to actions.

    Oh, gosh. I can't stand the way that he talks. But I'm glad someone called him out. He can be very boring.

    From what I heard, Cruz might not be a natural born citizen. His mother was on the Canadian voting rolls in 1974, shortly after Cruz's birth. Of course, as Chancellor Ewok said, Cruz was never a true Canadian. He ought to be stateless.

    So the Obama administration is so weak and ineffectual that all it took was a single phone call to secure the release of 10 sailors detained for drifting into Iranian waters...

    I'll take that little bit of progress from the man who said his #1 mission since inauguration was to make Obama a one-term president.

    But apparently he believes a far-left president made the country better off, to look at it that way ;)

    The White House has confirmed that we have negotiated the release of four American prisoners in Iran, including WashPo reporter Jason Rezaian.

    My knowledge of Mr. Rezaian is only from his interaction with Anthony Bourdain on his CNN show, but I am really happy to see him and the others freed. The only drawback to this story is that Mr. Rezaian's wife, an Iranian citizen who was arrested alongside her husband, is free on bail but still faces trial in October.
