I should have asked you: If he ever shows up again, how would you like to see Cody, c. 4 BBY (whether it be in Rebels or some other media)?

And how do you envision any confrontation between Cody and Rex going down?

What happened to all the baby clones?

 

The more I think about this the more pumped I am.

Since they probably will all die

I want them to go out in a blaze of Glory.

Edit to add: It would be fitting for Rex to say something to the effect that "It has been an honor serving with you all."

 

If Rex has to die in Rebels, I agree that a sacrifice would be the right way for him to go out.
Kind of like Hevy or Hardcase.

 

As excited as I am for Rex, I fear for his continued survival.

 

Indeed, it is quite possible that Rex eventually will kick the bucket in Rebels.
I only hope that he will get some good story arcs before he dies (not that Dave Filoni brings him back only to kill him off).

Unfortunatly, our beloved Captain can't live for too long. He will live only half as long as normal humans, because of the whole 'growth acceleration' thing.
Otherwise, I would have said: 'Rex for Episode VII'!

Is that from Prometheus? Never seen it - but the rammed ship's hull has a texture reminiscent of the ship in Alien.

The ship doing the ramming looked a little like the Firefly to me - maybe took similar design cues?

 

Yes it is from Prometheus. Not sure who did the ship design in the film.

 

Also the old continuity had clones commandos disobey order 66 in dark lord. rex nd Wolff are clone commanders and Gregor is a CC. As Jangotat said in the cestus deception they got a bit more Jango Fett in them then most of the other clones. Clone commanders, arc troopers and clone commandos were created to be able to improvise and think more freely at least in the old eu and thus would be more resistant to anytype of programing, especially once they developed to the point we see Rex at during tcw.

 

Interestingly, in the latest Star Wars Official Fact File, it suggests that ARC has a training programme - clones who excel as squad leaders, like Rex, get transferred and train as ARCs.

So Rex wasn't always an ARC - at Geonosis he was an ordinary squad leader.

There might not be a "ARCs have a different, improved genetic makeup from the moment of creation" principle in the newcanon.

 

Is Rex an ARC Trooper in TCW? I remember there being a scene in the Order 66 arc where he says something like "That's why he's the ARC Trooper" (about Fives).

This, plus Rex is always referred to as CT, not CC or ARC. He has the kama and pauldron like ARC troopers, but so do other captains and commanders. So, no? But ranks in the GAR are iffy.

 

This is why the Commanders and Captains supposedly have the special gear like Rex's kama and pauldron or Cody's IR rangefinder. They get it after completing ARC training. This is one of the points were parts of the old Canon mix well with the new. If there still is and ARC Training Program, they could still establish the original 100 Alpha ARCs that had genetic modification and special armor. And that that training program was headed by Alpha 17. It's all speculation, but it's reasonable speculation.

 

Rex is just so badass that he was appointed an ARC unofficially. He didn't have the genetic mods or the cool gear... he just did it through his sheer damn Rexness. Like a boss. #headcanon

 

Oh yes, I heartily support this. Not too soon though, maybe the end season of Rebels?

 

They seem to have already done something like that by charging the AT-AT and scaling it.

 

Except at least one of them survives so thats not some epic last stand.

 

Those scenes are getting me so hype. I wanted clones vs stormies, check. And now PT walkers vs OT walkers, awesome. Plus, they are pulling out the old rotary cannons and who knows what else.

That would be hilarious to see Rex or one of the other clones to say "good soldiers follow orders" and to have Kanan freak out only to realize it's a joke Although it may be seen as kind of a sick or sadistic joke to a Jedi who's master was assassinated by their own clone forces.

 

I don't know, Brother. That kind of sounds to me like a good way for someone to catch a bad case of death.
