I honestly feel like it borderline ruined the movie for me.

I can't wait to go see it again in, this time in 2D.

The air battles had some double imaging going on for me. The set pieces in general were often lost. I was unable to focus on certain things during the action, especially the saber duels. I just watched a hand-cam of the duels and some space fights, and I saw way more in that tiny, blurry video than I was able to see in IMAX 3D.

    Terrible.

I've seen it now in both 2D and 3D, and would strongly suggest the 2D experience for your first viewing. Agreed that the 3D was muddled and distracting in a lot of places.

I saw it twice yesterday, first in standard format and second in IMAX 3D, to be honest I didn't think the 3D added much to the experience. If you prefer that format I am sure you won't be disappointed but if you are not able to see a 3D showing don't be disappointed.

I went to te cinema with a light headache i returned home with a heavier one...
Some effects were "wow": good use of 3d tech
But generally speaking it confused the majority of the scenes.
I have to confess that i don't like 3d films that much so my opinion may be biased.
Going to another theater tomorrow to see the film in 2d...

I saw 2D first and then imax 3D. I liked both versions.
Best 3D shots were Rey in the crashed Star Destroyer.
