Plo wasn't even the best PT jedi left...not even top three.

 

I may be a bit of a n00b as far as the Starfighter draft is concerned, but just going by the past drafts I've looked at in the last couple of days, I think it would be safe of me to assume that Mara was nowhere close to the best NJO Jedi pilot left...

And about that Koon pick: In particular, I am almost dying at the thought of a GOLDEN opportunity Star_Rocker threw away with that Plo Koon pick. I mean, there was still a top-notch NJO-era pilot on the board who would have been absolutely amazing with Han as far as cohesion goes...

Oh well, at least that pilot will now be a big-time steal for SOMEBODY...

Well I do enjoy the feeling of a nice spreading warmth. Can you blame me?

 

I know the perfect guy for you. His name is R. Kelly.

 

Now, this isn't the most cohesive pick I could make, but I feel that Tycho will have no problems flying with a great Jedi Master. Therefore, I select Saesee Tiin.

 

Not as easy a pick for me here as you're probably thinking. I'm tempted to go for the pilot who's about to go right after this pick is made... but nah.

To tell you the truth, Durron, going by the way the last couple of drafts rated Kyp, I'm half-shocked that you even got the chance to draft the guy when you did...

Of course, seeing how the guy N_Y_J's gonna get's probably an Imperial, you probably best helped your cohesion with Kyp. Somehow, I think he and Anakin would get along pretty well. Of course, it's not close to the level of cohesion that (Kyp + Han) would have had, but that's neither here nor there...

I thought about Kyp, but figured Tycho would get along fine with Saesee, while we know their is some tension between Kyp and Tycho.

I don't blame you at all, Saber. Saesee is a better pilot than Kyp, IMO, and Kyp has questionable cohesion to say the least with not just Tycho, but just about any and every other Rogue not named Jaina Solo ('cause after all, tricking a squadron into losing half their men while destroying a worldship by telling them it's a superweapon is NOT the best way to make friends). What's got me wincing is the fact that Shawnkyr, Mara, and Plo Koon got picked BEFORE him. IMO, Mara doesn't really help Targeter all that much in cohesion when teamed up w/ Pash (and certainly not to the point of balancing out the gap of ability between Kyp and Mara). The same is true, in a different sense, for Shawnkyr and Kyp when compared to Jag (rhi-sparks' team). Still, I guess I can see why those GM's would shy away from drafting Kyp if they thought Cohesion rules all when assembling a team (though that still doesn't make those picks look like anything but the reaches they are). What absolutely befuddles me is how in the heck Star_Rocker passed up Kyp in favor of Plo Koon. I mean, if there's ANYBODY that could possibly be a better cohesional fit for Kyp than Jaina, it's Han Solo. Just think about it: if Han likes Kyp to the point that he repeats his desire of him as a son-in-law over and over, then how can those two do anything but NOT get along perfectly?
