She's carrying a watermelon. Is she on her way to dirty dancing?

Me at our team Thanksgiving dinner looking like a homeless person because my khaki pants have holes in them, and my hair is too long. I will have to cut it.

Little did his teammates know, Internets was actually wearing the balaclava he used when he stole the turkey for the team's potluck.

I'm struggling with this theory, in that she thought it would be better to buy and carry four separate, individually packaged watermelon quarters, rather than a single whole watermelon.

there are five watermelon quarters wocky, which are much easier to stack and carry than one whole watermelon and an additional quarter watermelon.

It might cost more to buy five individual quarters than one whole fruit and one other quarter.

EDIT: Actually, I think one of those quarters might be a half.

Disagree. There's no way she can really move with that ridiculous tower of watermelon stacked across her chest. By contrast, a whole watermelon could be slung easily under one arm while the same-sided hand carries her iced coffee, leaving the other whole arm free to carry the last watermelon quarter. This arrangement would increase her speed/maneuverability, free up more limbs, and retain a more intuitive center of gravity. Her arrangement is sub-optimal.

sub-optimal for now perhaps, but when it comes time to cut the watermelon she will be so far ahead of the game.

There is probably a shopping cart not in the picture, guys. People don't usually walk through grocery stores carrying things in their hands.

That's almost certainly wrong, Jello. She's quite clearly in the dairy aisle. No one directly abuts pasteurized dairy products with melons. They are supposed to be the center of the produce section, situated between the smaller fruits on one side and the vegetables on the other. This woman is far afield of where she found those watermelons.

jello's statement is still technically correct. in fact there are literally millions of shopping carts not in that picture.

Wocky, your sentences are linguistic magnificence. Do you talk like that too, or does it only come naturally to you in writing?

Has no one considered the possibility that the shop might not carry whole melons?

She could have taken two whole melons and make the picture infinitely more giggle-worthy. Caffeinated beverage jug be damned.

Had a great time at the nerd bar watching Dr Who yesterday. Got a picture with the costume contest winners. Did have a couple people ask about my 'wrong genre' t-shirt until I pointed out the Tardis. In fact Seventh Doctor in this picture actually came up to me and said he was told my shirt did have a Dr Who reference and I had to show him.

Structural engineers, perhaps. Electrical engineers are known for their reckless abandonment of all common sense and decorum.
