This was not my first account. I had one that preceded this (1998) but lost track.

Me, being manhandled in The Drunkard, a local play that has been running every Saturday night since 1953, making it the longest continually running theatrical production in the United States. I'm the disheveled one being threatened by the bartender.



Hard to see, but I have just kicked a chair across the stage; it's the brown blur by the bartender. Best night ever: I kicked the chair in rehearsal and the guy who was supposed to catch it missed his cue and was sitting down looking the other way when it arrived at his face.



DEATH TO YOU FOUL VILLAIN (actually, my inherent morality, not yet totally degraded by my fall into alcoholism, gets the better of me and I put the knife down, only to have the villain snatch it and plunge it into my back; tableau on my death - and second act is . . . over!) God, I love acting.
