The slow knifing scene in Saving Private Ryan

 

Hardest thing to watch in the whole film, for me (I haven't watched it in a long time, actually). It's always in the context and/or the M.O. that something freaks me out.

As mentioned the stabbing in Saving Private Ryan was really unsettling. There was one in Zodiac also, the serial killer attacks a woman and man picnicking.

I'm a bit of a coward when it comes to movies sometimes, I avoid ones with graphic violence and ones that are harrowing.

 

Anyone seen Deadpool yet? I will go soon but not OW, didn't work out that way. I may see Zoolander 2 (it's free for me with Movie Pass) Friday since my GF is gone and doesn't want to see that but does want to see Deadpool. She wants to see How To Be Single Sunday and since she saw TFA 3 times with me including the Marathon I owe her that! Lol. So I'll probably end up breaking my all-TFA streak since December with all 3 new releases lol. Oh also seeing TFA Saturday with friends.

 

Crimson Peak had an instance like this that put shivers down my back.

Heck I already talked about covering the screen for stuff in Daredevil. xD

Bowen Haven't gone yet, the more I hear the more I'm kinda torn. It sounds like they said "we're doing an R film so we're gonna go right up to the line of nc-17!" As an admirer of Ryan one would think "Oh hey his thangy thang is out during a fight scene I should def see it!" buuuut. I think it's the fact I was possibly going with my bro and that will be awkward xD

 

Oh I don't ever think I'm gonna be gone for good, work got busier for me though, so my brain was getting a bit fried. Couldn't think of interesting crap to say

I'm kinda torn about DP too. From what I've heard, it's alot of swordy violence, decapitations, dismembering, etc. And they're not gonna shy away from showing blood. However, it doesn't seem to me like they're going all out to be disgusting just for the sake of it, which is what I hate personally.. As far as *ahem* exposure, im guessing that's more of the reason they got the R, plus alot of swearing.

I go to movies alone quite a bit. It's kinda nice to go whenever the hell you want and do whatever the hell after without all the planning and wrangling of friends. I mean ultimately, you're sitting quietly in a room watching something, companions are not essential to the core experience.

Depends what kind of person you want to converse with.

Yeah most 7SA people need to lighten up. About a week ago, I made goofy reference to the "Poochie died on the way back to his home planet" meme in the Rey's parenting thread, and one fellow got very irritated.

 

Eh, I'd say closer to 50%.

But it's really amusing to see how each board is really it's own animal. JCC is easily the most wild tho.

Anyone ever seen Un Chien Andalou? Those of you who have know what I am thinking about.

 

I'd say the boards have separated out into their own turfs a lot more in recent times. There used to be a lot more crossover.

 

Like cities. I wonder how much of an influx happened because of the new movies.

Actually moving from board to board these days is a bit like visiting a different country with a different language and culture. It's an interesting sociological exercise.

 

I feel the same way, LOL. It kind of mirrors the Saga, if you think about it. Some places are definitely sandier.

 

Might see it this sunday, it's either that or Zoolander 2.
