Finally got to see Deadpool yesterday, and y'all were right, it's a rollercoaster of laughs and it's the funniest opening credits I can remember in a movie.

Oh and don't forget to catch the kid who's beginning to drink or sell drugs and have a moral lesson for the whole neighborhood.

Well... yeah. That and most afterschool cartoons. At least Captain Planet and GI Joe.

And yeah I watched some HtH, I remember the bearded dude being funny.

I'm missing something here.

 

They used to do that a lot in ads for TV shows, when the episodes were going to be tackling an important subject. Like, "Tonight, on a very special Family Ties..."

 

Ooh. I've seen old stuff, I just don't remember that. I do remember when ... I think it was the chick who played Blossom (and now whoever on BBT) was on Macguyver and developed a drinking problem and at the end of the show they provided phone numbers for help with alcoholism.

 

I'm going to give him a stern lecture. From what TV has taught me, he just needs one of those to stay off drugs and alcohol forever.

EHT I only vaguely remember HtH actually, but yeah as AmySolo said, Captain Planet and GI Joe were kind of ingrained after school viewing. Idk what kinda bad seed I would have turned into if Duke and Roadblock didn't make me aware of the dangers of playing with fire hydrants on hot days ACTUALLY, what would have impressed me more is if they showed how they can shoot all the guns out of the Cobra guys hands and NEVER hurt anyone.

 

That's a blast from the past. Highway to Heaven was one of the shows that my whole family watched.

 

I remember those. While I appreciate and understand the intent NOW, what I remember thinking in my young child-brain was "Imma skip that, doesn't look like too much hilarity going on there".

 

Same reason Cobra guys can literally rain lasers on the Joes and never hit anyone.

 

Ohhh. Stormtrooper disease. I hear it's a bit like glaucoma, maybe the bad guys should invest in ummm herbal medicine.

Sorry, just this board. I'm a little bit more active on the VIII & Anthology board and expect that will pick up as trailers start dropping. But as for TFA...

Well, we'll see what happens when the deleted scenes/extras come out.

 

Oh then, yes, agreed. I've been circulating in Anthology a bit and living on the PT social thread.

I'm looking forward to discussing the new trailers when they come out but I'm a little chiller on TFA until I can get the DVD.

 

I'd dip into the PT but I feel like a fraud in there since I'm not really a fan, yanno? I don't like raining on parades xD

So instead I hang in the somewhat frightening dark corner of the JCC.

 

There are some dark corners, LOL. I know some of the other people I talk to are in the Cantina, but I'm not interested in games for the most part.

And yeah, having some passing interest in the PT or at least pictures of Ewan and Hayden is probably important for the social thread.
