There have been a lot of other teams said to likely be taking part in All-Stars, most notably Colin & Christie and Mirna & Charla, both from season 5. Variety is the first to say David & Mary may be participating, though there has been a lot of talk that their fellow season 10 contestants Dustin & Kandice may also be back.

I don't know that "All-Stars" were that popular for "Survivor"...

That said, Rob and his pornstache amuse me.

Wow. That show has already run out of ideas.

Already? This will be its 11th season.

Also, Survivor All-Stars was the #4 show for the 2003-2004 TV season, and ranks as one of my favorite seasons. And the season of Amazing Race with Rob & Am-buh is my fave season :p

But "Survivor" fell off heavily in the ratings since that season, didn't it?

Yeah, but I think that's more because of poor casting choices. Amazing Race's ratings went way down with the Family Edition (by like 3 million viewers). I think they're starting to climb back up now, and an All-Star edition (especially with Boston Rob) will help that.

I'm utterly surprised Boston Rob would consider it, given the machinations of the producers to make sure he and Amber weren't alone on the final leg.

I'm guessing he likes the attention. And he probably wants another shot at winning. And more money.

He won the first time; the producers fixed it so he lost. I'd be ticked.

Well at least we'll get to see Rob make everyone else look like idiots again. Like pooling all their money to bribe a bus driver, but not chipping in any of his own :D

He's a very canny player. The other contestants didn't like him, but they were a sorry bunch, anyway.

Are the Frats included, from season one?

According to the Wiki, the only confirmed teams are:

I see no point in having previous winners.

    Why not? Survivor did it.

And the other contestants conspired to get rid of them pretty quickly...

Sounds interesting. But a lot of teams have broken up or drifted away from each other over the years. So this might get tricky. To be honest though, I really only remember a handful of teams anyways, so they better pick wisely. :p

    Ah, Antarctica...!

And they did conspire to get rid of the previous winners on "Survivor All-Stars" on the silly basis that they didn't 'deserve' to win again. Of course, this has nothing to do with anything, but it's one of the things that make both Surivivor and TAR so weirdly fascinating.

The producers say that a lot of people go on these shows, in fact, all of them do, with the idea that they are not going to expose their genuine personalities for the cameras. But they do, every time--they get tired, and stressed, and it all comes out. So you see 'reality' all right.

Kinda hard to conspire to get rid of someone in TAR though. But Boston Rob did a pretty good job at it last time!

What I really hated was that the other teams obsessed about getting rid of Rob and Amber to the point of nausea.

They just showed a sort of preview for All stars (starting in February). They didn't announce any teams, and said they were still top secret, while showing clips from past teams. One team that really stood out in the clips was BJ & Tyler aka the Hippies. I hope they're in it!

And I hope they're not. They annoyed me no end.
