Joe Montana 9, Jerry Rice 0
Lawrence Taylor 5, Reggie White 4
On to the Semifinals!
Favre ... is dropping back to pass, and Butkus absolutely whallops him, and I don't think he's getting up.
This time last year it would've been Favre. Now? Butkus.
And on that last round, great come back by LT! A little [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_auV_Nydvb0]celebratory video[/link]
Reggie White>>>> LT
Nice try, AJ, but you lost.
Yes, my reply is clearly outclassed by your ingenious use of the greater than sign.
For the record, not only did LT win the matchup in our little tourney, but taking a more objective standard, [link=http://www.greatsportsrivalries.com/sn_top100_nflpalyers.html]TSN's list of greatest players[/link], LT is #4, White only #22.
White was a great player, no question. But LT is the greatest defensive player of all time. End of story.
PS -- how cool would it be to have a Butkus-LT matchup for the final.
It has been proven through scientific studies that the greater then sign is the pinnacle of internet debates. Clearly this means your argument stands no chance against mine.
Dick Butkus 8, Brett Favre 3.
And Favre goes down hard. Ouch, Brett, ouch.
Please no spamming
It almost breaks my heart to vote against a fellow Domer at this point, but I own exactly one football jersey, it's blue, and has the number 56.
I tried to find clip of LT sacking Montana and knocking him out of a playoff game (1985 season, iirc), but no luck.
let's find a clip of LT snortin some coke!
Or one of Favre at his local pharmacy.
oooooh, didn't see that one coming!
