A show about a pair of highly trained KGB operatives posing as an American husband and wife in the Washington DC area in the early 80's. It's very well done so far. Thoughts?
No. But I do lol when I see the ad on the subway. Interesting choice by FX in turning their logo into a stylized nazi flag. http://www.impawards.com/tv/americans_xlg.html
That is kind of funny. Certainly the red, white and black combo is a little reminiscent. I want to watch this show... not sure if I'll make the time though.
It got picked up for a second season! http://www.flickdirect.com/news/4063/the-americans-gets-renewed-for-second-season-by-fx/article.ashx
Vin, the first time I saw that was in the subway in Philly. I think being underground just makes the whole vibe worse. The poster is a brilliant image, though.
Yup, hooked from the first ep on. I've watched all 5 episodes online and really like what I've seen so far. I'm especially fond of plot threads from early on being mentioned in later episodes and not just conveniently forgotten about in later episodes. I also read that there will be an upcoming episode dealing with the Refuseniks and possibly Mossad which ought to up the ante quite a bit.
It's a fantastic show. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler I don't think that the Russian girl who works at the embassy and has been tipping off the FBI has long for this world.
Good episode tonight I wonder Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Did the child exist, or was that offer to run away another KGB test of his loyalty?
I've watched five episodes so far. I'm glad this thread exists, otherwise I would have started it myself The show is excellent, but I won't deny that getting to look at Matthew Rhys for long periods of time helps its appeal somewhat.
wow, pretty eventful episode, I don't know if anyone here is still watching Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Was not expecting the partner to get stabbed like that
Finished the season! I have to say I was NOT expecting Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Nina to defect back to the Soviet Union, though I feel pretty good for her And I loved the ending where Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Gatt had that middleman guy in questioning and Paige suspects something weird's going on with her mother
