Amph The Americans on FX, anyone watching?

Thankfully the show is not popular enough-- at all-- for FX to milk it by splitting the final season. Really, the only reason it's on because the execs care about critical acclaim and prestige.

 

Ahh, I had no idea ratings were low. People are so dumb.

 

Great episode this past week. The scene around the dinner table was brilliant. Also, surprised at the very ending scene - it was nice to see Elizabeth kick @$$.

I'm guessing the Pastor Tim/Alice plot-line will be resolved (one way or another) at the end of S4. It's just that since Pastor Tim & Alice now know that the Jennings' have an agent living next door to them, they may be more inclined to say something about P. & E.'s true identity - maybe.

In any case, I suspect P. & E. will need to make an extremely difficult decision in the next two episodes.....

 

I normally avoid this thread because we're so far behind in the UK, but I've finally seen the last episode of season 4. It's such a strong series, both in writing and acting. I'm sad it isn't more popular.

What do you mean by that? Keri Russel's character is hardcore into Marxism-Leninism and the show is sympathetic to the Soviet point-of-view, but Russel's character and her husband are deep-cover KGB agents in Washington, D.C. who do awful things for dubious reasons. While I think you'd probably enjoy the show, don't expect it to be cheerleading anything.

They do bad things to all nationalities.

I doubt Ash vs Evil Dead can compete in terms of wig disguises. I don't think anything can.

 

Ash is also lacking in Martha.

 

I love this show! Caught up on the first 3 seasons before being able to watch season 4 while it aired.

Fantastic characters and great storytelling.

 

A reminder that this documentary series is back next Tuesday.

 

I've watched and loved this show since the start. I was insanely happy bought that Camero. That was my 1st car and seeing them in that condition is a rare thing now. Brilliant acting.

That was a genuine shock to me. I really didn't think we'd ever see her again on the show. Oh boy.

 

I haven't written off seeing the end anybody yet, even Nina, until the end credits of the final episode. You just never know and that it what I love about this show.

 

I'm behind a lot of episodes this season. Any good?
